This is absolutely Mump's Administration

the Professional Class is used to Being Right. You Work Hard, You Study, You Get the Right Answer.
This makes them terrible politicians, where there are no right answers and you have to trust your emotions.

I am cautiously optimistic that this is some horse trading. "Fine, we'll bite these technical losses and make the unanimous, in exchange..."

Actually I would argue that part of Trump's problem is that the Trump Organization required zero management. Trump is used to holding court, not running a major organization. He's actually got as much management experience as Obama, only thinks has more and therefore won't listen and learn.

Relatedly if, during the Campaign they said it was blue, governed as it were Green, and then ran for relection saying it was Blue, the media would still treat that as a he-said, she-said, not the blatant lie normal people would see it as. 2/2

He understands that the media is incapable of learning new coverage paradigms. If Republicans say the sky is green and Democrats counter that the sky is blue, the media will cover it as a difference of opinion. 1/2

counter-argument: It had to go that hard because in order to be considered a great Millennial Kid's Show, your theme song had to be a certified bop.

Rich white men really want to be told that the path to a majority comes from assuaging the guilt of rich white men.

The peril of course is that when it comes to city planning, the status quo is always unsustainable--cities grow and change or they die. You can't ever say, "Okay this city is now perfect; freeze it in Amber now."

I mean, if he were in Congress still it seems obvious from everything he's said he would. But he's not and no Impeachment vote that could win will hit the floor as long as Johnson is speaker. Which is the point--Democratic Majorities are the FIRST step, not the last. Win in 2026, then make deals.

And that's my point--there is no bargaining *of any sort* if we don't win. I was also a Republican activist in my mispent youth.
But like Walsh, I came over with a new appreciation for systemic oppression--and a willingness to keep learning. I think that's what you have to ask for--and accept.

If your politics don't allow for people to join your side, it's not an electoral coalition, it's just a competing cult.
The problem with Gabbard isn't that she was "conservative", it's that even when she was endorsing Bernie, she was clearly someone who's only real principle was ambition.

If the only path to an electoral majority is to embrace fascist grifters, maybe your plan on what to do with that electoral majority needs work.

This took me longer than I wanna admit to learn.

There aren't words for how much I hope I am wrong. But remember, "They're just weird" was working before the consultants and journalists killed it for not being substantive enough.

They will no doubt fire the staffer. Can't be too interesting now, the old white journalists might get concerned.

Well you can't expect them to blame their own decisions, now can you?

So again what do you want Warren to do? There's no impeachment (or conviction) unless Republicans turn on Trump. The best way to make that happen is to turn pubic opinion. Which is done slowly, unfortunately.

She's a Senator in the minority--all she can do is use her bully pulpit to draw attention and hopefully increase pressure on Republicans in Congress to check this Admin. She can't MAKE them do anything, sadly.

Senators can't impeach.

I can see that--And i think calling it a deckbuilder is an unfortunate misnomer--it's more a different GUI on a modular skills system. Which may be the sales problem. They tried to sell an RPG as anything but.

Right? I usually hate card mechanics because deckbuilders make me anxious about minmaxing, but if they made XCOM 3 the *EXACT SAME GAME* as Midnight Suns only with guns and aliens, I'd be a day one pre-order.

I normally hate "deckbuilders" this is the only one I have EVER loved.

I will never understand why it sold so poorly. Everyone who played it (including myself) LOVED it. It's my all time favorite Marvel property.

And the electorate is not the same as it was in 92. Democrats still campaign as if it was.

Notably they'd also lose a good chunk of their *franchisees*
Owning a McDonald's franchise has been a pathway to generational wealth for many BIPOC small businesspeople.
McDonald's understands more than most companies that DEI isn't welfare, it's an investment.

People in the South hate Black people and love all their Black friends like family. People in the North love Black people and have no Black friends.

I grew up in Lafayette, LA. I have lived in the Greater Boston area since 2001. Before the Rise of Clay Higgins I would tell people Cambridge, MA is the most racist place I'd ever lived.
...even now, it's close.

It's Memorial Day weekend and I took my gloves off to type this. This is obviously traditional late May weather and Climate Change a hoax.
Now white genocide? Obviously real.
...do I qualify for a job in DC?

People idealize the New Deal era, and imagine, “why can’t that happen again?” Racism. Majority-Black industries like agriculture and domestic were excluded from the New Deal, and the coalition fell apart after Johnson’s presidency, despite it being the most economically progressive in US history.

Thank you! It's incredibly frustrating that the Left thinks they can build a governing majority without dealing with white racism.

What's annoying about this bullshit is that it's intentionally a vicious cycle. It's existence will be used as proof of the need for it to exist, justifying increased future "skepticism."

Why is the ex-President getting choked up about his dead son more newsworthy than the CURRENT President sleeping through a world tour?

I think that's part of it. I also think there's an emerging counter strategy of beat the snot out of superstars.
I don't think we actually wanna return to 1980s bullyball, as much as we wax nostalgic
