But so this is why EV school buses are The Best - health benefits to vulnerable communities, predictable charging demand, and a serious potential grid asset! Scaling 2-way charging systems will make the grid more resilient and cleaner - can’t happen fast enough! #BPS #EVbuses @mayorwu.boston.gov

(This message coming to you from the line outside the MFA, which goes alll the way down the stairs nearly out to “Appeal to the Great Spirit” which has always made me a little uneasy, relieved to hear Dallin said “The attitude of white people toward Indians in general is one of supreme arrogance.”)

V2X means using the vehicle batteries as electric grid resources. This is such a cool idea for regular EVs, but bus batteries are bigger so better grid assets. But city buses run all day, so they need to be charging when they’re plugged in, but at least they can charge overnight on cheap electricity

For example… why isn’t this MBTA bus electric (yet)? Cost, sure: you wanna squeeze some juice from the existing internal combustion fleet during the transition. But. Diesel buses are bad for health and more expensive to maintain, so the sunk costs aren’t one sided, and that’s before we talk @ #V2X

I think this is in keeping with anti-car politics?

This would be sarcasm from most people, but I think you might actually be excited for some neighborhood conflict.

If a gas co builds a network that avoids the need to build out the electrical grid (by reducing winter peaks) who gets to keep the savings?
