Want to know if anyone else has noticed the enormous similarities between The Expanse and Marathon/The Jupiter Incident/Haegemonia?

A suspect so intimidating, I'm surprised he didn't just shoot her.

Much like revenge, of course 🥶

Tastes... similar.
But the texture is pretty much perfect.
Unlike actual Guinness though, it definitely benefits from being served cold.

I also recommend Guinness Zero.
Is DELICIOUS.

"I'm Irish" usually means "my great grandma visited Waterford once."

I'm sure there's something buried about American ignorance of other cultures... 👀

Of course, the rest are all idiots because hahaha funny idiots.

Just because he's an Olde Timey person doesn't mean he's an idiot.

That's probably the most realistic part of the episode. People tend to think old/ancient people were superstitious fools.
Look at what they achieved in Ancient Egypt, without modern technology, just by applying the same maths, engineering and empirical science that we use today.

Though, she did leave Ireland in the second world war and never wanted to go back...

There's a line in the Star Trek Voyager PC game Elite Force, where Tom O'Dell (the only Irishman on the ship...?) complains to another character about how racist Paris's holoprogram is.

I really enjoy Spirit Folk 🥰
You have to remember; Irish Stereotypes are very, very funny.
(Seriously, it's about the only episode of Star Trek my grandma genuinely loved 😂)

Thank you for the sympathies, BTW. Life is complicated... especially considering the person who supported me through that 13 years ago has since tried to coerce me into killing myself.

Burnham DID cry too much, though.
I liked that she was raised very Vulcan and I wish they'd leaned into that more.
I can't be mad at that, though. S1 DSC is my favourite (non LDS) season of NuTrek and Burnham had the best character arc of any NuTrek character in that season.

AHFWEW; just rolls right off the tongue.
But between you, Vean, my daughter and my gf, I'll have a house very full of da wimminz.
...
I'm gonna end up sleeping in the Haunted Attic, aren't I?
...
Wonder if the ghosts are fem, too? May end up sleeping in the conservatory.

Same. Lost someone fairly recently to it. Nearly lost myself to it. PCD didn't handle it well at all.

I thought it was supposed to be a Romulan ship chasing a small Federation starship... either way, it would have been COOOOL.

I miss Discovery 😞

Lack of awareness of the issues it's trying to tackle is probably the most "Star Trek" thing PCD did.

GIVE US A SERIES ON A ROMULAN STARSHIP, YOU FUCKING COWARDS!!!
Humans are boring. I spend all damn day every day with those.
I thought Prodigy was going to be that show for me (I was really looking forward to it!) but I was pretty disappointed with what we got in the end.

I really enjoyed PCD S1 (then they ruined it for the last two-part episode) but I loved pretty much all of PCD S2.
S3 is probably the worst season of Trek ever made.
Had a lot going for it (acting, effects work, etc.) and the first half showed a LOT of promise.
...
Then they fucked it up.
comment in response to

PCD Season 3 was of course Season 8 of TNG.
It's nice that both of the worst seasons of Star Trek are the TNG bookends.

"If I'm a Vulcan, how do you explain my boyish smile?"
"Not so 'boyish' anymore, doctor."
(Is it bad I recognise and can quote that scene from that one picture alone...?)

You both can come over here and stare at me.
Then I'll keep you here.
I'm not letting either of you go back to the North American oblast of the Russian Federation.

You're over-thinking it.
Which is understandable.
Because that's what Old Farts do.

That is a nice haircut on the left 🥰 Kind'a similar to how mine is when it grows out a little.
That is a horrible haircut on the right 😠 Kind'a similar to how I get mine cut so it lasts a while.

You facing it like this does make things better for people who are forced to go through the same thing, which is incredibly admirable ❤️
(And it also gives me a little hope that my daughter will be okay too, because people like you keep fighting.)

Sorry to hear that.
I can only imagine how triggering these conversations must be for you.
Maybe one day conversations like this won't be needed anymore.
(Hopefully before my daughter gets much older 🥺)

I don't feel attacked by comments like that, because I'd like to think I'm not the kind of man being called out.
If a guy jumps in to remind you that it's "not all men" then that guy obviously thinks he IS one of those men.

The first Descent had 3D models too, as far as I recall.

Or did you think that was just a lucky guess and I didn't know it was a Bible metaphor?

Biblical wisdom.

Then you're scientifically illiterate.
Which is fine, not everyone has to be, but don't use ignorance to justify oppression.
