Still buzzing from Son2 getting his degree. I'm assuming he's still drunk in a gutter somewhere near The Shambles but I've already booked an Airbnb for the graduation and started worrying about what to wear. (I didn't go to mine as I had no one to go with me so this is a big deal for me.)

I find this chat about PIP being an in-work benefit disturbing. It's constantly reinforcing the tone of the "deserving" and "scrounger" narrative of welfare. My son cannot and will never work. His life is still of value. He still needs financial support to live.

The kids opposite have been in and out of a paddling pool all night. They're now all huddled under a gazebo, shrieking in the eye of a humdinger of a thunderstorm. I'm so pleased for them. It's really one for the memory bank.
