Presidential pardons do not touch state charges or state convictions. Leticia James is working on some of it as stock markets are in NY and thus the state of NY also has criminal jurisdiction over fraudulent stock trading (as do the feds) to a degree.

The only issue i see is that the freaks would probably DNA sample and store everything for match up at a later date if something else happened. They cant do the backlog of rape kits, but they would make time for that shit.

I really upset someone when I was younger when I pointed out their god was the biggest provider of abortions in existence, if you believed in gods and what not.

I do NOT have anything near your skill, but the pattern that sticks to me is going speed up the downfall of dollar hegemony and the currency of last resort. Argentina echos in my mind a lot, right now. I think it gets very very ugly.

I am afraid that if they strip financial regulations, that is the straw that breaks the bond market and foreign government treasury holdings' back.

Peter Schiff's comment still just fucking boggles me. Just ... what the fuck, man?

There was a period of a year or two where I got more calls from my sister's incredibly adorable dog while he played with the phone.

In college, when we were in the 18/19 age range in the dorms, we would absolutely TORCH anyone who brought up a 17 year old, to ths point of blasting winger's she's only 17 loud enough you could hear that shit across the field. Someone younger would have got someone hurt, likely.

Now he is going down as a generational level mass murderer who exceeded Pol Pot's dream body count.

Its funny how generally well regarded he was a decade ago, to now. Its the open your mouth and remove all doubt trope.

The cruelty is the point, to anyone they deem different or has the temerity to defend anyone they deem different.

That's one for the "no shit" category... and they won't be hiring a lot of those people back because they won't come back via anything other than desperation. Expertise lost forever that was benefiting the American (and the world) population.

Just Google Palantir Anduril partnership, and I hate these fuckers for corrupting Lord of the Rings. Enshittification, I think smarter people than I call that sort of thing

The only reason to use Twitter is if you have marshmallows to roast over its flames at this point. It has slightly higher credibility to me than Fox and OAN. Slightly

Found object? Jesus christ, Jeff. Stop it. Joey is already dead. You are only bruising the corpse.

The economists/stat nerds who track inflation every month literally couldn't do their job this last time and had to rely far more heavily on substitution/estimation than normal. Too thin on the ground to actually properly gather data.
comment in response to post
Eh. Jobs reports are revised every month. Have been forever. While they are up to a lot of nefarious shit, just the revision alone isn't a sign of it. Having said that, they are definitely delving into data manipulation and corruption.

Gotta recognize the work. Might be the main form of journalism surviving, bud.

So, with the news that the inflation data gathering/examining staff was too thin to actually gather their normal data, how questionable is more "self reported" data like this and data gathered by a third party payroll company? Will resistance to degradation be more robust?

The most valuable class I took in my college years was an examination of how propaganda worked in "modern" media. I suspect and hope this class has the same impact that class did for me, those 35 years ago.

The line I think of most in regards to people in the US government right now like Miller and his lot "he weighs everything to a nicety on the scales of his malice". With the Palantir/Anduril implementation here, the ring incantation is also terribly apt.

Ro is out here like Gavin Newsom. Lighting his feet on fire to stay warm. Jackasses.
