Same here. I understand why they want the tax process to be terrible and error-prone, but why is TurboTax itself so bad? It's full of bugs that any self-respecting software vendor would be embarrassed to put out in public.

It seems like about 10% of the questions are outrageous softballs: "Mr. President, you have incredibly high approval ratings today. How do you feel about that?"

If he goes there and sees a big stack of gold bars, how does he have any idea whether or not that's the right number? (Actually, I've been secretly replacing the bars at the bottom of the stack with bricks for decades now, and I'm just trying to discredit this intrepid investigation)

And none of this would be necessary if the tax-preparation companies weren't lobbying Congress so effectively. Those forms could go straight from the employer to Uncle Sam.

The fact that we don't have net neutrality (except for some state-level regulations) means that it would be perfectly legal for Internet providers to throttle any disfavored service to the point of unusability.
