Thinking of Danny Almonte as I submit my son's DNA sample to Little League.

@davidjroth.bsky.social thought you would enjoy this Steve Somers pic that has been in my phone for years, just because. I never thought of him as “jazz tinged” or however you described it, but you can certainly see it here.

@theonion.com ouch!

A great piece, but just incredibly bleak.

Im my estimation 1776 is better than Hamilton because there’s a whole section where Jefferson is so horny he can’t write the Declaration of Independence.

I don’t even know anything about this guys politics really, but he’s one of those democrats who remains relevant I think because he has an interesting story. He’s not a troop, he’s a pitcher but still. He’s 1-2 in elections all time and in the win he ran unopposed. Whatever. Godspeed.

Please tell my parent company to actually bargain in good faith with us before our contract expires in 11 days!!! actionnetwork.org/letters/help...!

I think at this point The Onion counts as legacy media. The only one still thriving and actually getting better.

If I ever get to retire I’d like to move to a slightly warmer small city with a minor league baseball team so I can sit in the stands all summer listening to the game on a radio hanging around my neck.

For someone who spends as much time writing as I do it's amazing the very basic words that I struggle to recall. I have a note in my phone because I frequently want to use the term (checks note) persuasive, but will just sit there staring at the wall for five minutes because it will not come to me.

Will be presenting my counter proposal, R.O.N.A.L.L.D. (Remembering Otis Nixon w/ American Lefties Loathing Dems), in the coming weeks. This $2 trillion undertaking will study the syntax, language and content that appeals to middle aged writers, academics and lawyers who think Otis Nixon was cool.

Here's a thought I just had, Aramis Ramirez.

We lost by 1.5% and 90 million people didn't vote. Lesson learned folks, let's spend $20 million on ads targeted at divorced dads who fall asleep every night watching IG reels about how to open a bottle of water like an alpha.

Great to hear Donyell's name. He made over 900 3's in the NBA, but I'll always remember him for this dunk against Seton Hall in '94. There was a Greek kid who spoke very little english in my dorm at UConn and for weeks all he would say when he saw us was: "Donyell..360. Amazing!"

The fixation on these particular voters is amazing considering D’s lost the election by 1.5% and as more people didn’t vote as voted for either Trump or Harris. Yet all we’re allowed to talk or think about are these weirdos.

Stop politicizing politics.

Paytn sounds like a payday lending app. This whole list is people who think dropping a "y" into a name makes up for a lifetime of not seasoning food.

@offtherecordspod.bsky.social ZaSu Pitts.

Can anyone tell me how public opinion is formed? Is there any persuasion involved, or does it simply exist in a vacuum? Public opinion is X, free of any context, and your job as a political actor is to adopt those positions. Is that right?

I bought a Bloom County collection at a used bookstore this weekend for $3. You kind of have to know who Casper Weinberger and Lyndon Larouche are for it to truly hit but even without that there are plenty of laughs.

To quote Jimmy Dugan. “That’s good advice”

One of the real let downs of Trump II is that they haven’t experimented more with aspic.

Eli Manning being at the crypto dinner getting very little coverage.

@davidjroth.bsky.social would have been nice to see more of the table here, but as the man @willmenaker.bsky.social once described as; “The Studs Terkle of Trump fail meals” Can you give us a little analysis?

Is there anything more American than the one absolute unit on every little league team? A 5’7” 150 pound third grader makes we want to salute the flag.

There’s one place in our town that services vacuum cleaners. It’s called Vacuum City and every time we go, for the next week, I repeat it over and over in my head in an Axel Rose voice. Problem is, I can never come up with the next lyric. Take me down to Vacuum City, where….please help.
