At first, yes. But later, it became the official, Paddington Bear toy.

Over half a century after he died, yes. While he was alive however, things were very different.

The specifics, were covered by the Official Secrets Act. But acknowledging that he'd played a key role, would have been appropriate. But if they'd acknowledged his contribution, it would have meant also, acknowledging that a homosexual, had played such an important part in winning WW2.

They did capture an Enigma machine much later, and worked out how to decrypt the messages for themselves. But Turing's team, had been decrypting them for quite some time, before that happened. Like most misinformation. That story about the Americans being the ones to crack the Enigma code 1/2

No. The Enigma machine was invented in Germany, and was their primary method of encrypted communication. An Enigma machine was captured, but the decryption key, was too difficult for humans to decode it fast enough to make a difference. The team at Bletchley Park, lead by Turing. 1/2

Most shops (at least in my area) haven't accepted £50 notes for decades. So a lot of younger people, will never have seen, a £50 note. But luckily, he's had the recognition he deserves, for quite a few years now. It's just a shame, that he didn't live to see it himself.

It was televised, as part of one of The Royal Institution Christmas Lectures. The Turing test, was developed before anyone thought it possible to acquire that much data on real world human interactions. So it's no longer, a valid test of sentience. 2/2

Because modern AIs are "trained" by collating massive quantities of data on (amongst other things) human interaction online. Some can, and at least one HAS passed the Turing test. Although that was using a child (chosen at random, from the audience) and ChatGPT. 1/2

He also developed the first sentience test for AI. He saw it coming, 80 years ago, and appreciated the importance of knowing whether an AI is truly sentient. Or just effective software.

During his lifetime he didn't receive the recognition he deserved, because of his sexuality. But all that changed later, when attitudes changed. It's such a shame, that he wasn't around to see those changes, and see the difference in how he's viewed.

How convenient. The bullying wasn't an isolated case, but they claim that students said that she was being abused by a family member. Strange, that it only came out after she'd taken her own life.

It's not the tools, it's the people using them, which pose a risk to us all.

You really need to pay more attention to social media posts of any kind. Don't you realise, they are used by some, to manipulate people?
The same goes for MSM, videos. Basically, any and all forms of mass communication. We need to be on our guard at all times. 1/2

Many of us understand that it's not the American people. Just your would be King, and his cronies, who are hated. He didn't even win by much of a margin, and many didn't even vote. So he's hardly representative of the majority of Americans.

The same is often true of news reports, social media posts, TV programs, etc., etc.. But not all, are created to manipulate people. It's very important, to assess each thing, whatever it is, and decide whether it's intended to manipulate you or not. Unless of course, you intend to stop using 1/2

Or whether there just aren't enough people, who can afford to adopt them. But something needs to be done, and you're putting a lot of effort into trying to save them. You should be proud of yourself. Not doubting yourself. 2/2

There's only so much, any individual can do. What matters, is that you're tyring so hard. If it wasn't for people like you, raising awareness, even more would die.
I don't know what's making things so bad in America. Whether it's the sheer number of dogs being handed in to rescue centres. 1/2

Why would you think that you're failing them?
You're raising awareness, not only of their need for new homes. But to save their lives too.
I don't know, whether it's because too many are being handed in, or not enough people are able to adopt them. But neither of those things are your fault.

Why are you so determined to restrict access to some, forms of communication. But not others?
Is it because you like, reading books, and using social media?
Don't you think that's hypocritical of you? 2/2

If social media posts, are used to manipulate the population, which they are. Then why are you, using them?
Many things, including memes, are abused, to manipulate people. But the problem isn't the tools. But those who abuse them. Or are you going to abandon the Internet, books, 1/2

2) I deleted my Twitter account years ago.

If books "program" people, why read any?
Not all books are used that way, not everything on the Internet does either, and guess what?
Not all memes, are used that way. Why is it so hard for you to comprehend that? 1/2

Yes, Pluto is, still a planet. It's just smaller than first thought. So it was reclassified as a Dwarf Planet. As someone else pointed out, there are others in our system too. Why it matters, whether it's over a certain size or not. I don't understand. A planet is a planet.

invariably "well they aren't a threat to women". It sickens me, that people think like that! And I sincerely hope that you can find someone to create a meme to help you bring more awareness of trans men too. Sadly, I'm no good at that sort of thing. But I hope that someone else can, help.

I suspect it all comes down to fearmongering. It helps to fuel the hatred and fear, when the Transphobes claim that it's all so that predators can get access to women only spaces. It harms their argument, when we point out that there are trans men too. When I bring it up, the response is 1/2
