Gazza-esque ability to dribble at pace and with balance, with similar upper body strength.

Like I say, not much cover at CB...
Although seriously, he can clearly do a job if he can stay fit. #lufc

Yep. Not much cover at CB - if PS or JR get injured or suspended you'd be relying on Debayo, or maybe switching one of the full backs in. Eeek! Might impact on who you pick in central midfield. But I think we've seen enough times this season that our best form of defence really is attack. #lufc

The drum break at the end is phenomenal. Such a tight band.

I used to be ace at sending faxes to multiple recipients and photcopying multiple stapled copies of lengthy docs. Essential to my job in 1996. Completely redundant now.

I sold all my Numan / Tubeway Army vinyl (and I had the lot, every single and album 1978-83) to Vinyl Exchange in Berwick Street for a grand total of £9 in 1999! It was the peak of his unpopularity and I probably thought it was a bit cringe. What a twit! Rebought on CD eventually.

I was given This Wreckage for Christmas 1980. Not one of my favourites tbh, although the album it's from, Telekon, is sensational imho and continues to lurk around my all time Top Ten, 45 years on.
Great instrumental b-side too, iirc.

I'm guessing it depends which players you've got available (always better to play to their strengths imho, e.g. right footers on the right wing, left on the left etc.), who you're up against, what the current interpretation of various rules is, etc. Getting it in the box generally helps. #insight

There was a spell in the Autumn, once we'd got up to speed, when we played some decent stuff, utilising Hendrie's skill, for instance, and playing decent balls through for Davison to run the channels. But yes, after Christmas and Chapman's arrival we played to his strengths. To great effect. #lufc

I think it was a very skillfully assembled squad, where all the components added up to more than the sum of the parts. Adding Dorigo and Wallace's pace to the strength we already had was top business in the summer of 1991. #lufc

Batty's agent Hayden Evans told a brilliant story about being sold a painting or something by Fotherby, for some astronomical sum, didn't he? The story of the South Stand boxes is outstanding too, real Arthur Daley stuff. #lufc

He was clearly worth more to us than them. Masterstroke by Wilko to spot not just the footballing ability but the transformational leadership qualities. Peripheral figure at Man U by then, instrumental in #lufc's Race for the Title x2. Would probably go to Saudi now?

My first time in West Stand at Elland Road (1979) it was £2.50. Which feels quite expensive by comparison. Got a half season ticket on the kop in 1989 for £35!
