And has been successfully implemented in places like South America. Just bringing it home now. All about upward redistribution.

Trans rights are human rights no matter what any courts say, politicians legislate, or autocrats enforce. Transgender people deserve dignity and protection.

Gee, if you can't trust Elon... This is absolutely insane, apparently the odometers on Teslas use "predictive algorithms, energy consumption metrics, and driver behavior multipliers that manipulate and misrepresent the actual mileage travelled by Tesla vehicles" 😳

Thinking of all the people who told me that it was far too dangerous for Joe Biden to take extreme action to stop rising fascism because if he did so then if fascists got back to power, they too would be able to take extreme action. Turns out when fascists aren’t stopped they just do it it anyway.

Trans women are women.

Fuckin going after Americorps 😡

I know — people will say “defund the police” was “a bad slogan” and “unpopular” but I disagree. It’s a long argument why I disagree, but one day I’ll write it.

I've managed to live without Amazon. I used to get Amazon deliveries practically daily. Now I just plan ahead a little and order stuff direct. I realized I put up with a lot of shitty products I don't even really need just because they were shipped to me quickly

Screeching about low birthrates is a stalking horse for stripping women of their rights. That's why all the well-meaning liberal solutions — better childcare, better healthcare, and especially men doing their fair share — fall on deaf ears.

it’s sometimes called ‘the Shock Doctrine’: “The idea is that the creation of a sense of shock in a population can paralyze them, and allow for policies and plans to be pushed forward that no one would otherwise accept or agree to.”

This columbine plant is just glorious!

I'm just a few chapters in and hoo boy, does this describe so much of what's happening right now.

The U.S. has had a bipartisan deportations-before-reform policy since the 1990s. Maybe the discussion should be how badly that policy has failed across the board: as a form of restrictionism, as a road to reform, and as an attempt to win the policy argument.
