This headline makes my eyes bleed

It’s not as bad as the “fake” gather, IMO. That one should be whistled more strictly, and he looks to have his hand under the ball there as well
comment in response to post
Yeah I was adding on, not disagreeing. I think his palm is clearly under the ball when he’s got it behind his hip and I can’t imagine it’s not close when he’s performing the in-and-out
comment in response to post
It’s physically impossible to bring the ball from behind your hip to the front of your body, all the way to the midpoint of your knees, and effect a 180-degree change in direction of the path of the ball in midair to perform an in-and-out without dribbling or carrying. I’ll die on this hill.

Hilariously I think they may consider "Trump take egg" to be among their successes

Totally agreed. The silver lining is that the consequences have not yet been fully adjudicated. I'd feel a lot worse if any contempt proceedings had been fully litigated and concluded without any findings of wrongdoing. Not a tremendous comfort, but patience remains key.

Daily life requires addiction to devices that provide effectively unlimited direct access to the most selectively filtered and curated braggarts of the upper class. What other time period in history could have as tangible and widespread an understanding of the depths of wealth inequality?

The bus from Denver to the reservation casinos was one of the most stunning, revealing experiences I’ve ever had

The interviews with college kids who are now compulsive gamblers (betting on table tennis in a different hemisphere to scratch the itch) illustrate this perfectly. They sound so confused when asked if they would drive anywhere to place these bets. Of course not! They’re doing this in class! At work!

Perfectly said

Rogan was publicly in the bag for Trump by October, and the correspondence that’s come to light between Rogan’s team and the campaign made it incredibly obvious that Rogan was stringing them along. Getting stuck spending a late October Friday night in Texas was a preposterous waste.
comment in response to post
(1) Muzzling Walz in favor of consultant speak and (2) allocating significant stretch run campaign resources in an effort to obtain an audience with Rogan should qualify as serious errors

Because the ownership class must see their payrolls subsidized.

Not even worth replying to people who completely miss the point. Obviously the Biden administration accomplished a ton of objectively great stuff, but none of it will matter because Trump’s 23-year-old virgins are going to axe it all!
comment in response to post
Yeah, you’re absolutely right. It’s an uncomfortable truth that most on the left have practically absolved Dems of by virtue of it being so far down on the list of the party’s sins that there’s not time to address it. Higher priorities. But that doesn’t mean we still shouldn’t be furious about it.
comment in response to post
Trust me, it’s not sleight of hand. It’s incompetence.

If you bothered to research anything at all, you’d know he was being detained on separate charges for an unrelated, subsequent incident. But don’t let the facts get in the way of pushing your mouthbreathing agenda.

In the time it took to write your moronic comment out you could’ve Googled it twice. It’s all over the news. There are literal murderers running free in my community, but thanks for the unsolicited advice.
comment in response to post
The kind of idiot who also carjacks a 59-year-old while he’s dropping beads off at a recycling program at an Uptown school in broad daylight.
comment in response to post
You’re an idiot. At least several attempted murderers. The one they just caught shot a 59-year-old man twice while carjacking him as he was dropping off Mardi Gras beads to be recycled by a special needs-centric employment program behind a school in broad daylight a quarter of a mile from my house.

Dems will never not take the bait! They love to be dogwalked!

I’d never heard of him before, but many writers I follow said similar things. Even so, it’s incredible to me that he’s woken up in whatever time zone he’s in and actively decided to double/triple down while shifting the goalposts. I’d have considered that type of shit to be juvenile when I was 16.

He blocked me after this one, which was offered in response to a tweet characterizing Ben as a public figure. Total joke of a human.
comment in response to post
Those goalposts are flying! First he was a journalist, then a media exec, now just a public figure! Can only imagine what he’ll be tomorrow. Personally I’m just glad you seldom waste time on dishonest people. Imagine how many days you’d have to spend tweeting about the guy!
comment in response to post
Nowhere did I reference intent. Words have objective meaning. But I see that you’re unwilling to consider any perspective other than your own! Best of luck to you.

Offering this explanation in good faith in the off chance you are legitimately unclear on what you just said. The phrase “unless you ALSO” draws a straight-line comparison to the relationship at issue, which is plainly romantic.

The article you’re talking about deals with *sentencing,* which is an area that has been completely legislatively punted to the judiciary. The only rules are literally called “guidelines.” Procedural rules are completely different. Pull the docket, show me where the judge unnecessarily delayed.
comment in response to post
District judges just follow the law. Your (entirely rightful) irritation should be aimed at the lawmakers. I know you know that, so I’m not really sure what point you’re trying to make here.

I’m not so sure. Estime did nothing in a backfield devoid of talent last year. He tested poorly, received poor draft capital, has no notable coach confidence, and the Broncos used a 2nd on a guy who is in all likelihood a better fit for the offense.
comment in response to post
I’m with you, but this is not a particularly strong comparison—in 15 years you would have built significant equity and your property value would likely have increased. If you stop paying, you’ll lose your house, but not your investment.

People really would rather score social media cheap dunks than dust off their critical thinking hats
