But also, I have a personal head cannon that Ntozake Shange foretold this with The Prophecy (as told in an interview) that it would be until there was a "Colored Day At The Movies", that I personally think was fulfilled with Rachel Ziegler's Snow White. The Rainbow is Free y'all!!!

Published & Public!! This is archival level hatred from a singer with documented vocal damage.

The "struggle" she claims to have overcome included a two parent household with a steady income, a boat, immediate entry into Juilliard, & a consistent career. But she's convinced that her Next Life is gonna be the easy one... she says from her car with a driver while she yells at pedestrians.

I specifically remember everyone always being surprised that I didn't know new rap artists... I just didn't know inappropriate rap artists.
I didn't listen to NWA fr until the movie came out (I was in high school). My mom was shocked, but dad was in charge of our rap exposure. ๐คท๐พโโ๏ธ

& if a book is on the tbr for a cool second doesn't mean I'm not gonna read it. It just doesn't match the vibe rn.

There's a certain amount of pride & confidence I can carry when I find evidence that my allies have only become more steadfast in their allyship since I've last needed their support so bad. I'm just proud of my ppl. I'm still crying. The concert hasn't even started yet fr.

Some productions believe they want an interactive audience until the audience gets too rowdy. Now some actors are throwing temper tantrums barely offstage to the audience. Imo you don't get to control the audience & that's what makes live Theatre so great. You either bounce back or roll with it.

Call & Response mentioned!! Also Audra being surprised that Othello gets an actual response from the audience was so cute! (Mostly because I have my own theories on audience interaction) & I think that having that positive exchange with the audience is an extra point for Othello imo.

I commend Actors on Actors on pairing Audra with Jake, because they very easily have been Denzel Washington & it would've been a very different convo. Pairing her with Jake keeps That Demographic of the audience engaged without bathing Gypsy in Black, despite that not being the story of Gypsy.

I personally prefer the poetic verse of a song to Shakespearian verse. But also FUQUE Shakespearian prose, it's so difficult. Sondheim doesn't allow for stumbles fr.

It's funny Jake saying that Shakespeare "humbled" him, considering his dressing room, but also considering my attempt at Shakespeare while I was doing vocal recovery. I was (Cordelia in King Lear) in a shopping cart to inhale Lear's dramatic breath during his final monologue it felt ridiculous.

Audra is talking about Rose (character) & she's referring to her as a tornado & high energy & that really feels like an exciting role for me to imagine myself doing before reality sets in, but I yearn for a longer run. Shows in my area run for a week or two max & it feels like a waste of momentum.

Can they get somebody to file each complaint individually?? That's the type of petty energy I need from the DNC right now.
