For me it always boils down to this: - Does it feel right for the story i'm trying to tell? - Do i have an avenue to get it produced if i change it from movie to series or vice versa If it works for the material, that's the prime motivator, but if ive got nowhere to take it...

That's fair. Not to try and downplay the personal impact, i would counter that in this infinite scrolling paradigm, you (and everyone else) will come across something that strikes a chord. The longer you scroll, the better the system becomes at feeding you that content type.

Our existence is an engine fueled by perception. You feel this way because you are being fed an endless stream of terrible things on social media which is engineered to keep you scrolling. The world might not get better if you stop scrolling, but you're outllook will.

Eventually you realize that these people are cosplaying & care less about the conflict and those dying as they are about generating content that keeps the revenue stream flowing. They don't want nuanced discussion or criticism. They just want to get paid.

I was banned in a reddit community that is pro-Palestine & anti-genocide for suggesting that targeting other YouTube creators as 'backing genocide' was performative & did nothing to actually help those suffering (2/3)

Institutions are created to serve a cause or a group (or both). As the institution grows, at some point a belief emerges that the institution is more important than the cause or group it serves and must be protected. That act of corruption dooms the institution & the only option is demolition.

Thanks for the response. The part about having an audience, that was where my head was at. Is there a subtle/subliminal acquiescence on topics & opinions based on audience expectations.
