I asked support when it happened to me, this is what they said:
"We have confirmed an ongoing system outage that may cause issues such as (but not limited to) login difficulties, “Invalid Handle” error messages, and search functionality problems. Our team is actively working to resolve the issue"

I low-key miss impressions. If they had an analytics pane that I overlooked, I'd eat that up.
I like how things are now, though, and wouldn't sacrifice anything for those features. It's nice opening my feeds and not feeling like I've missed 7 posts.
