One of the first times I recognized a composer in a video game was Sakuraba. The distinct intense battle themes of Golden Sun matched the intense “match point” themes of the Mario Tennis games far too well. Honestly I should’ve recognized his Tales of work as by the same composer too.

Pizza Tower is a popular one, sort of a manic mixture of Wario Land 4 and the Sonic Games. I also recommend Gravity Circuit which is heavily based on the Mega Man X games. Both games are quick and breezy and highly repayable, and are both on Switch
