Iām thinking about dissertation chairs/supervisors/PIs who exploit, harm, and discriminate against their international students. Iām thinking about all-too-familiar patterns of overwork & mistreatment where departments choose to protect abusers and look the other way. 2/

You can make a word for "white supremacy" in German & have it be intelligible, but it's awkward and generally not doneāpeople just say "Nazi."
White supremacy as a power structure? Forget about it. ("Anna, was this weird to navigate as an ethnographer of German natsec?" Yes, yes it was.)
