can't believe how much Stuff is in this trailer. game looks incredible. not really a fan of the voice acting here but it's fine, everything else looks great

politicians and commentators keep darkly warning about NATO being dismantled and I don't believe it's going to happen because nothing as good as that, geopolitically, has ever happened in my lifetime

Letting Americans write British characters continues to be a bad idea

Iain Banks' estate launched a (very lovely!) new official website and this is at the bottom of the FAQ page

saw that Limmy was going to be streaming Disco Elysium and I expected it to be unwatchable - he'd hate it, his chat would performatively complain about it, etc. but I took a look at his first stream and he seemed more into it than I've seen him with a game in years

tha na h-amadain seo às an ciall le Corbyn, fhathast, sia bliadhnaichean air adhart bhon turas mu dheireadh a bha e buntainneach ri dad sam bith

Here's something I wrote (and recently re-wrote) that I like to share around Academy Awards Time: The Kids Are Not Alright: The 2019 Academy Award Live Action Short Films Made Me Want To Die Link below but I'll also thread here with alt text if that would please ya medium.com/@ryansimmons...

This was good, though it didn't quite match the novel. Impressively staged though, and the actor playing the devil did a great job

This went well, by the way - got lots of stories. Some weren't directly relevant to my project but still great, such as stories about 'Am Peacach' (The Sinner), a local character in Stornoway in the early 20th century. His brother was known as An Terrible, so they must have been quite a pair

going to see a stage adaptation of one of my favourite books tonight - The Testament of Gideon Mack by James Robertson. really looking forward to it, hope it captures some of what was so good about the novel

🚨BDS UNDER ATTACK Dear supporters, our account on X (formally known as Twitter) has been hacked in an attempt to discredit our movement and silence Palestinian voices. Malicious content is now being posted to our X account.

something very depressing about seeing that the BDS twitter account has been targeted by crypto scam hackers

I will never stop thinking about this Gabe Newell quote

"check this out" I say as I begin trying to mush myself into a corner and fail to flip over, it's not clear what I'm trying to do

did you know: Máiréad Ní Ghráda's 1940 Irish-language science fiction novel Manannán, which features a giant humanoid mech piloted by humans riding inside it, is one of the first non-Japanese examples of a prototypical mecha (only 9 years after the debut of the earliest, Ōgon Bat 黄金バット, in 1931)?
