When @monicalewinsky.bsky.social talked about looking back after you turn 40, and she “thought I mattered much more than I did,” maybe I had a little menty-b in solidarity. So if you saw me on my neighborhood walk today, forget all about it.

It was an honor to sign the guest book in the home of Anne Frank. I was here as a younger man and thought about her life as a dark chapter of history. Today, I can’t help but think of her story as one of caution. Our world is fragile, and it’s incumbent on us not to break it.

I’m watching @clairecmc.bsky.social on @nicollewallace.bsky.social and she said Democrats can’t do anything, it’s up to constituents of Republicans to get off the couch and call. I’ve been calling. That’s NOT the answer. Dems, DO SOMETHING

Here is a script you can use for any issue. Find your reps' # at reps.fyi or 5calls.org. Every time you see a news story that horrifies you: call, or something else about it. It matters to say what you believe. You are setting a norm.

The richest man in the world is sitting at the Resolute desk, about to defund your public school. Trump should stop him.

This is what democracy looks like! We're out at Tillis' Raleigh office! @bullcityindivisi.bsky.social @democracyoutloud.bsky.social @indivisible.org @leahgreenberg.bsky.social @ezralevin.bsky.social

This is like me saying “Somebody’s gotta do something about me being fat and my house being a mess.”

I called his office earlier this morning and left a message - played up my southern accent, his expertise and how much we “mamas” rely on doctors. It felt gross, but gotta speak their language to appeal to them.

Elon Musk is a terrible president.

Yeah well I’m imposing tariffs on your MOM

I haven’t lived through the collapse of a civilisation before I study history so I have read the guidebooks, but they don’t quite capture the experience of being there

I went to Costco because they’re standing by their DEI policies. But the problem with the “I,” is that it means all are included. Even this guy.

He’s reading this?!

Reading this while listening to @todayshow.com talk about the crash, saying maybe DCA is over capacity and discussing fatigued pilots. Never mentioning the obvious. (Or why the hell a military chopper crashed into it.)

This is giving “thoughts and prayers” vibes.

Complaining on social media is how *I* handle my feelings about the Trump insanity. Elected people like @schumer.senate.gov should actually DO SOMETHING!

Auschwitz was at the end of a long process. It did not start from gas chambers. This hatred was gradually developed by humans. From ideas, words, stereotypes & prejudice through legal exclusion, dehumanization & escalating violence... to systematic and industrial murder. Auschwitz took time.

Watch out, #Gamecocks. It looks like there’s been a trade war declared.

But what are we supposed to do? We’ve always wondered what we would’ve done had we been in Germany, but here we are and what do we do? And the answer can’t involving voting. I’ve been doing that.

It’s a sadness and depression that Prozac, hormones, vitamins and magnesium can’t fix. I’ve not felt this looming fear and specific anxiety since 9/11.

I want to take part in the Lights Out Meta week, but FB is literally the only way to get information from my city and county with the looming ice storm. This is a huge problem and we’ve gotta find a solution. Our safety shouldn’t rely on the oligarchy.

The coverage of legacy media on this issue has been embarrassing. But they’ve long been out of touch. I’ll never forget being in a meeting and mentioning Craigslist being more useful than classifieds. The boomer editors laughed at me - young female couldn’t possibly know anything - and yet …

Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin in his farewell address: "You know, I was taught at West Point to pray that I would 'choose the harder right instead of the easier wrong.' And I have tried every day as Secretary to live up to that teaching." It's a prayer for America right now.

There are so many things I would ban before TikTok, including SUVs and assault weapons…

One thing about Biden is that he gives a damn good eulogy. This time, it was for democracy.

I had started to feel a little less terrified and a little more numb. But that’s not the case today. Where am I going to be able to get reliable information? I’m too entrenched in my former life as a journalist to trust individuals but too angry at my former profession to trust legacy media.

When I just emailed my senators asking them to join @edmarkey.bsky.social on the Extend the TikTok Deadline Act, this is actually not at all what I was requesting.
