Stay warm.
For your furnace and hot water heater you can electrify them if that makes sense. Save money almost always in the long run. Incentives for heat pump appliances found at the non profit Rewiring America website. Best of luck. Many thin layers help more than one thick one I’m told

There was a bill proposed out of a california senator for an “eco score” on all foods. I wish for someone to make a campaign in America for this. It works in France? Maybe it could be added to the farm bill.

That's good. I don't know much about this stuff but I've been told leaking means it's getting old. Hopefully the money will be around later if you need it. They say we need to replace a billion machines 😅

Sorry about your grandma! 😢 I don't know if this will make sense for you but you might be able to replace it with something more efficient. Check out the ngo rewiringamerica (u say gallons so I'm assuming usa sorry if wrong) they have info on how to get money for it. Good luck!! to grandma too!!
