"Real Men" do not intimidate children and terrify toddlers I kind of think it's time Destiny Church were classified as a gang. Ban their insignia as gang patches and look at their membership with suspicion. #NZPol #AucklandPride #BrianTamaki

Turns out the cost of certification is not high after all. In fact in this case, FIANZ would have done it for free. But nobody asked.

Stop calling Destiny Church's campaign of harassment and intimidation of the LGBTQ+ community and allies "violent protests". Start calling it "domestic stochastic terrorism" because that's that it fucking is. Normalization and minimization is complicity. #nzpol www.nzherald.co.nz/nz/destiny-c...

If the last Labour Govt had tried this trick with school lunches & gotten these same results, LITERALLY every pundit would be demanding resignations. So tell me Aotearoa, why the deathly silence?

Best placard of the day from the Whakatāne Hikoi For Health

Such a powerful quote by Donald Shoup; ā€œIt's unfair to have cities where parking is free for cars and housing is expensive for peopleā€ Some people donā€™t have money to feed their kids, because rent is too high. But at least cars can park for free. #schoollunches #nzpol

ā€œMr Luxon's office did not respond when AAP FactCheck asked for evidence supporting his claim.ā€ šŸ¤” Appears NZ is being governed on the basis of vibes, which explains risible policies enabling a real, rapid decay. | New Zealand PM Luxon wrong about 'three-year recession' www.aap.com.au/factcheck/ne...

Seymour's response to Methodist President Te Aroha Rountree mentioning Te Tiriti being a contract between both parties, the submissions and the hīkoi - at the Treaty Grounds in Waitangi on Waitangi Day - is to dismiss it as left wing and politicised, and that's why church attendances are dropping?

As a father of five kids, I totally agree with this evergreen post.

ā€œwe all know he runs a country like a business. And businesses look after their key shareholders, not the public. And whoā€™s the key shareholder here? Well. I guess that would be Mr Luxon himself.ā€ #nzpol

Thereā€™s a tendency among those of us who spend time online - Iā€™ll admit, I fall into this category - to criticise journalists, claiming they donā€™t do enough. Yet, time again, and more often than not, they come through for us in meaningful ways. Hereā€™s a today's example.

David Seymour *knew* and let Jago *resign* 3 months later rather than take immediate action

Young Simeon declaring on the news tonight that cycle ways increase traffic congestion is positively Trumpian. Say whatever he likes with enough confidence and it goes unchallenged, no matter how ridiculous.

It is alarming to see so little reporting from the media in Aotearoa about the Tim Jago case when there is so much to be scrutinised. ā€œThis is not a time for politicsā€ from David Seymour was not an instruction, team - itā€™s a ploy to bypass scrutiny. Who is making the call on near-universal silence?

Where the stink is, thereā€™s a pile of shit šŸ’© #nzpol #ACT The Bulletin, The Spinoff, April 13, 2021

Luxon only spent five minutes talking about his Government's plan for the upcoming year, then he spent fifteen minutes shit-talking about what he thinks other parties will be doing. It was low quality and embarrassing to listen to. Has anyone checked that Luxon has read his job description? #nzpol

The way I see it, Te Tiriti was an agreement between Tangata whenua & the Crown (indigenous people & coloniser) to govern over their own people at the time of signing. Iā€™d imagine any indigenous peoples who have had treaties with colonisers (who have not respected or honoured their side of the 1/n

After simeon ā€˜anti-abortionā€™ brown saying the right wing National party isnā€™t going to touch abortion legislation, Iā€™d like to point out that they are already going after funding and access. You can stuff abortion services just fine without legislation. #nzpol

Can confirm.

When governments underfund essential services like public schools they shift costs onto struggling families, which exposes them to predatory lenders like this. In a wealthy country like ours, everyone should be able to afford the basics. Public school should be truly free.
