Lovely. The joys of homeownership.

That's awesome. I'd love to do something like that to my walls, but I'm discovering this place is made of cardboard and duct tape and wired by an orangutan. Every diy project ends in me cursing the previous owner and his bloodline. (With mild inconveniences)

Oh my word, that's a fluffy pink cloud of lovely π.

David Austin is the rose's breeder. There's a few of his roses with similar colors but different growth habits. His stuff is great

That would be sweet. I heard one hollering at the edge of my land the other night. They're so cute, but Lord do they sound creepy.

Too early, then you got to field dress it. It's a lot of work. π I have a recurve bow, but that's not powerful enough to hurt anything more than a hay bale.

Bribery is a tactic. π They might bring friends though

I've got a classic daisy myself, plus the standard Southern arrangement. Something for varmints, something for game. I used to enjoy target shooting at long ranges before I had kids and got too busy. Hillbilly heritage and a grew up in a military family, so I'm comfortable with it.

I keep a Costco size thing of cayenne powder on hand and make hardware cloth cloches on vulnerable stuff. I also don't net my berries and leave a nice bare area for foraging worms. I still have a varmint rifle on hand if they go for the cat though.

Sadly, I'm in surgical menopause. My ovaries tried to kill me, so I had to evict them in '23.

My bad joke. Stella is Italian for star. Although, you're bound to bump into Italians of some variety in Jersey.

Bugs and varmints really object to me getting to taste my home grown produce.

They're certainly worth it in my estimation.

I am. The antibiotics are helping. I just hope they don't mess with my hrt too much. I do not need hot flashes again.

They're everywhere. I don't think they're bothering Italians yet though.

They're beautiful π. What a multitude of lovely blooms too. They must be very happy.

A favorite of mine. π𧑠Such a pretty little rose and so reliable.

They are! Social media has definitely opened my eyes to the world of clematis.

On the other side of the coin you also don't get racoons, puma, alligators, 2 types of bears, coyotes, skunks or our exciting varieties of snakes and spiders. π

Neither beer traps nor copper tape deter my resident slugs. They're menances this year. I barely got to taste any of the strawberries I grew.

Yay! Gorgeous cheerful daisies and daylilies. Stella D'oro if I were to hazard a guess. Star if Gold roughly translated.

We are getting a hot streak next week. I am not looking forward to TVA fumbling again when the temperatures are near 100.

The kitty has gotten lazy with her rodent hunting here. It's hot and muggy, I understand not running around for a mouthful of icky, hairy germs.

I sympathize with the ant issue. Bloody carpenter ants drive me nuts. They get into anything and everything outdoors. I only spray the house so they just rampage. It's the price I pay for living with the woods. Just like the gross rodents. Ugh

It's definitely been the most vigorous growing season in the last 5 years.

A classic summer sight this side of the Mason Dixon line. Our local trumpet vines skew orange.

They're not the tiniest spiders lol. I've startled and been startled by my fair share of these. I wish they'd develop a taste for slugs.

I've acquired antibiotics so weβre off to a promising start. The next big hurdle is assembling my new, grown up easel lol. I have been painting on my 6 year old's and she wants it back π

It is a bit, but fortunately it's low fevers in the evenings and fatigue. I think I picked it up at my crown prep last week. That whole dental appointment was in shambles.
