I often wonder about the decisions behind releasing Mr Turnkey as the follow-up single. Like, at no point between recording and releasing that song did anyone at the label ever listen to the words and think "actually guys, maybe another sci-fi number might be better"

GFF viewings #7 and #8 were Gazer and Harvest, both of which fall into the "well made but not my cup of tea" category alas.

GFF film #6: Laura Carreira's feature debut On Falling. Brilliant. Those who know me well will know what a big deal this is: I stayed for the Q&A. (I think it's just the third film in at least a decade to achieve this rarest of Maxwell accolades)

GFF film #5: In Vitro. Started well, ran out of steam.

GFF film #4: Spilt Milk. Irish drama, uncomplicated but enjoyable enough, with a couple of great performances from the young kids.

Damn, I won't be home in time but in true Beyond Friday tradition let me say that I saw this one relatively recently and yes, I did immediately buy a copy of the soundtrack LP.

GFF viewing #3 was Hill, Alex Holmes' doc about Damon Hill. I have precisely zero interest in motor sports but very much enjoyed this one all the same.

Ah, let's make it a thread. GFF viewing #2 was Sew Torn, and it was very much not good.
