Social media makes people stupid, and this was a stupid thing to tweet if you're a senior correspondent at a national news organization that aspires to objectivity. Doesn't matter if it's 100 percent accurate, professionals are supposed to remain professional in their public communications.

No. Targeting civilians is always a losing strategy.

so far no hard evidence of rigging, but plenty of hard evidence of self-ownage.
comment in response to post
WIth the "Genocide Joe/Killer Kamala / vote uncommitted" rhetoric from the far left combined with the decision to forego a serious Democratic primary process, not much need for rigging.

What's idiotic is thinking 75+m people voted her because they thought she was a good candidate, vs. voting for her because the alternative was so awful.

I rest my case.

Not just centrists, Carter, Clinton and Obama were all relative outsiders, disfavored by the party apparatus. They all won by landslides.
comment in response to post
They sided with money AND became so deeply enmeshed in identity politics that they failed to notice that they were losing the very voters that were supposed to be impressed by that approach.

Perhaps it's not that people can't read your posts, but rather that they find little of value in reading them, beyond unfocused textbook stridency.

Name one significant thing she accomplished in that four years.

2020 -- including a majority of Democratic voters -- told us that Harris should never have been a VP or a nominee.
comment in response to post
OK, you just spend the next several years sitting on social media scolding and wagging your finger, and the rest of us will figure out how to get Dems back to a majority party and get Republicans out of power.

MAGA 2026 campaign strategy meeting -- "Hey let's double down on seeding librul social media with lots of talk of how stupid and racist and misogynist voters are, so they alienate as many people as possible before the midterms." "No need for us to do that, they're doing it themselves."
comment in response to post
Utter nonsense. Harris did terribly in the 2020 Dem primaries, including against other women.
comment in response to post
A foolish take which does not account for the huge mistakes Dems made, and more importantly offers no possible path forward. Our supposedly racist and stupid electorate elected Obama *twice*, and not by close margins either. Find and back winning candidates instead of scolding voters.

Americans are the winners if Trump and Musk keep tearing each other down. Let's hope they keep it up!

me too :)

Musk is vastly more evil than Trump.
comment in response to post
Yes! Jump into the fray and make it worse, Steve Bannon!

A bit of a side note but who ever thought denim shirts were a good look?
comment in response to post
It has probably been fraying behind the scenes for a while but it was in both their interests to keep up appearances. I love it!

He could fire all of them but they'd also have to throw out ALL the deeply compromised IT equipment.
comment in response to post
Unfortunately a lot of the mainstream press, which has been credulously portraying Musk as a genius/visionary for years, would buy it.
comment in response to post
Ross Perot was an oddball but a decent person compared to Musk.
comment in response to post
He is polling the legions of idiots that follow his Twitter account and thinks they in any way speak for the American middle?
comment in response to post
OMG, I've been waiting for Trump and Musk to turn on each other for months. This is delicious!

If you are Elon Musk or another plutocrat, anything that doesn't go to them and their pet causes is waste, fraud and abuse.
comment in response to post
no, he is NOT switching back to being a Democrat! He is opposing the bill because it is not extreme enough. #BoycottTesla!
comment in response to post
Fuck Elon Musk, a despicable billionaire-charlatan. He's upset because the megabill doesn't take enough away from regular Americans.

cough cough bullshit cough cough

If I really need to explain this to you, it's not going to be worth my time.

Did you not watch Biden debate Trump?
comment in response to post
Meh, the Biden cover-up laid the groundwork for Trump's election, which helped lay the groundwork for this. Stop blaming the messengers.

Why should anyone get a pass?

All very true. But he failed spectacularly in accomplishing what too many Americans *believed* he was trying to do, and that story needs to be told loudly.
comment in response to post
If anyone thinks Musk is brilliant, it's more a reflection of their own lack of brilliance.

They WANT to explode the debt. It's part of the strategy for wrecking the federal government. They're not insane, just evil. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Starve_...

Palestine's "allies" in the US are making things worse for Palestinians rather than better. By failing to police the antisemites and Hamas sympathizers in their ranks, they alienated Americans and helped elect Trump. Now their rhetoric excusing Hamas is inevitably leading to terrorist acts.

Looks like someone had some cards after all.

the Russians are so steeped in doublespeak that they actually believe their own BS.
comment in response to post
The time to overreact was 2015-2016 when the DNC boosted Hillary's candidacy over a fair primary process, thereby leading to the entirely avoidable outcome of November 2016. We also should have overreacted in 2022 when Biden decided to run again. Losing to Trump takes spectacular incompetence.

Is Trump allowed to say "it is my honor?"

he's an evil fucking freak.
