That’s right — we have to keep trudging forward. And being ahead. Here is one way people can participate: don’t spend money on February 28. This post has more details and some downloads if you’d like a profile photo, reel, flyer, etc. scratchpost.news/Blackout-Feb...

I noted that some Seattle friends who may have sided with the WTO protestors' cause could not, because of their destructive tactics. Breaking windows only scared the powers that be for a while. And it gives them a too-easy excuse to lower the boom on the people.

I'm happy that so many people I'm seeing here on Bsky are diving into Sarah's work. Just listened to her former @gaslitnation.bsky.social cohost @andreachalupa.bsky.social with Elie Mystal this morning, and I'm highlighting a few other writers on my profile page. Keep fighting. Stay inspired.

maybe the state schools/contract colleges are easier targets for federal funding cuts but I still hope that CU fights back and goes even further (in the face of all these attacks on "the good work") in upholding its founding principles.

"reporting" on how the NYT plays news from this administration is about as pointless and almost as damaging as the reporting (Helllll-O, @cnn-news.bsky.social !) that just repeats its lies and the daily, hourly "it's all a show" outrages.

He's good at stuff like that.

"check back on whether we shut down" also means without a doubt on what they ALREADY shut down. This isn't even a well-run kakistocracy. It's rampant incompetence, the Peter Principle on coke. or, more likely, meth. Just watch - the MSM will soon be happily reporting on what Katie Miller's wearing.

OpenAI is not "open-source". And in an unironic twist, 11 months ago today Elon Musk our new but malfunctioning robot overlord sued OpenAI and "accused them of prioritizing profits over public good." (Like he gives one godly fuck about 'public good'.)

A book by the brilliant Elizabeth Sandifer, @eruditorumpress.com - - Yarvin, and his crackpot theories of corporate dominance & systems just MADE for doom-spiraling, were featured tonight on @maddow.msnbc.com -- you've been warned. People who think they're smart only sound so to people who aren't.

hard agree! thank you. I am strongly advocating getting into Republicans' faces on camera - make them answer for what they won't/can't answer for.

He's my senator so I could get in touch, appeal to him and/or bemoan his uselessness. For now I've been referring to him as 'Brickley Paiste' for the past several months.

Absolutely. And get in their faces, and swear at them with fire in your eyes -- on camera!! That's what we need. Now.

I feel like I fulfilled all Pope-related viewing with recent rewatches of 'The Borgias' and 'The Godfather, Part III' - only the latter could be reassessed as better; but I long for the days when terrible leaders were dragged to a piazza/public square and burned
