@sproutcan.bsky.social @alicya.bsky.social Like so many, I’m crying & pretty much terrified over here for what’s happening, please know so many of us here don’t agree with all the horrible insane things the new demented admin is doing. It feels like an alternate bizarro universe down here. 💔🇨🇦

This 👇 is how dictators stay in power for decades & lifetimes, they conveniently amend constitutions every few yrs to allow them more corrupt time. Fortunately it’s not so easy here & hopefully has the proverbial snowball’s chance of passing, although it does already seem pretty hellish here now.

Perk of single life: 98% of the time, I eat the exact same thing for dinner every night: Salad with sautéed tofu, olives, mozzarella, sunflower seeds, apples, dried cranberries, apples, cottage cheese, hard boiled egg. Sometimes some croutons. No worry, no fuss, no cooking, no stress.🥗 🍎 🥚

Sunday #cooking: made both roasted and mashed potatoes today. Set up for cozy lunches for this week, right as the cold weather blast arrives. Can never have too many kinds of potatoes. 🥔

Mental health tip: Organization is one way I deal with anxiety. Clutter & chaos can make anxiety worse in many people. I used some holiday gift $ to get some new canisters & storage containers for the kitchen. Migrating from random messy ziploc bags to organized order = 👍

My Christmas casserole #cooking tradition since last year: Pumpkin Ricotta Spinach Cheesy Pasta Bake. 🎃🧀🍜

I made French toast for brunch today for first time in probably 15 yrs, and now the entire house smells like cinnamon-y syrup-y goodness, why did I wait so long. I wish this smell came in a candle (I bet it does).

Just tried a new bake: Apple Pear Cinnamon Bread. The house smells amazing. 🍎🍐🍞

I’m on dinner roll duty for Thanksgiving tomorrow. First batch of homemade yeast rolls done. 🍞👍

How many family & friend relationships have been fractured, stressed, tested to their limits from these ugly times of polemical politics, from things you thought the other person would never say or believe, from a politicized pandemic that continues to pursue us. Everything feels like it’s breaking.

Very good advice. Gauge your mental exhaustion. Give your mind & body calm, restorative gifts: bake some homemade bread, read your favorite book, watch a silly sitcom, stand outside to stare at the moon. 🌖

Word of the Day, should you need it, is ‘latibulate’, a 17th-century verb meaning to find a corner somewhere and hide in it.

In case anyone else is seeing an ⬆️ in panic attacks lately, this article may help. I also recommend a therapist account on IG called ‘Anxiety Josh,’ he’s got some great advice & tips. And give yourself patience & rest, things are really tough right now for so many. 🫶 tinybuddha.com/blog/how-ive...

Migrating from the bird to the sky, it’s time. Lots of tough changes lately, this week has been especially rough for so many…hoping for more calm & kindness over here. 🦋
