Mistake correction:
βA 10% decrease in fossil fuel support leads to a 0.6% (0.06%) DECREASE in export capability for the most (least) fossil fuel-intensive industryβ

Otherwise, the negative results of FFS removal would also not make sense. Sorry for the confusion.
Too bad it does not let me correct the post.

Oh, I cannot believe I in the end wrote it wrong!
Yes, you are obviously right!
It should be:
βA 10% decrease in fossil fuel support leads to a 0.6% (0.06%) DECREASE in export capability for the most (least) fossil fuel-intensive industryβ

- Unilateral removal of fossil fuel subsidies has a stronger negative impact on competitiveness than coordinated global action (see figure)

Very nice, thank you. I tried accessing the longer report, but somehow do not manage. May I email you about it?

Very true! π¬
But generally, bike infrastructure and public transport should be cheaper than car infrastructure.
However, I think itβs also partly because the outskirts have a vote in the centre politics; in Paris, the city of Paris is so small that the commuting zones cannot vote for the major.

It's so sad to see after having lived in Amsterdam.
I just don't get it. Even for all the suburbians who can now still cheaply drive their car into the city centre, it must be a pain to be stuck in traffic all the time.
