You can see how the Right are itching for any excuse to get out on the streets and cause the same disorder they did last Summer. They were ready to go after the events in Liverpool but had to stand down. Fuelled by online hate and disinformation, we are sitting on a tinderbox.
BTW, Only 5 arrests?

Yes the criticisms from the Right aren't justified but that's where the overwhelming attacks come from.
Just because the BBC's political output is not as YOU would want it to be, doesn't mean that the Right have 'partisan control' If they had, why do the Right continue to attack?

They are attacked from both sides and whilst that may not be reassurance enough for you, it signifies to me that they are striking a balance. If it was only attacks from one side then there maybe a greater indication of a political bias. Do you think there was a golden era that has now gone?

You've never read the Daily Mail, have you?
Maybe you should.

If you want to grade where the BBC is politically, look at Talk TV or GB News.
Yes, the board does have a right of centre mix but their primary duty is to maintain the BBC's standards not to move it to the left or right.
As long as the BBC get up the noses of the Daily Mail, I'm happy.

Can you expand on that? I'm not sure what you mean.
Many thanks

This proud Nation fought the Brussels B-EU-rocrats once before to keep our bananas straight and now we need to fight to keep their hands off our British Bangers!
WHO WON THE WAR, ANYWAY??

GOT to love that posed photo!
I might be wrong of course but I doubt that the two pictured are the actual people involved.

Worse. Lord Haw Haw was an unapologetic Nazi, openly broadcasting their propaganda. This man claims to be a 'spokesman' for the Israeli govt, able to clarify any points of contention. I think this woman has been watching his videos before she took up her current role.

Don't worry about all the 'alleged' shootings of people queuing for food over the last few weeks and all the other 'alleged' shootings and deaths of civilians, the Israeli Govt are looking into it and then this man will tell us the unbiased truth.

Be careful what you wish for, Kurt...
Who will take over local radio? World Service? Programmes made not to just attract advertisers but to serve all the people?
You obviously love and trust the Daily Mail but they can't do all that.
Be careful what you wish for.

Wow!
How big an ar*ehole do you have to be to big up someone who shot and killed an unarmed family man in the back?
That makes you as bad as anyone you oppose, maybe worse.
If that's how you want your country to be then maybe you should think about emigrating.

Yes and I don't think it will ever stop. People seem to let their own prejudices and political views colour how they view what's on screen and only see what they want to see.

So...too much to the Right or too much to the Left?
I see criticism from both sides and that gives me some reassurance that they must be doing something right.
comment in response to

Hmmm.
You do know that those on the Right think the BBC is a Leftist, woke hive of do gooders, don't you?
As long as the BBC gets criticised pretty much equally from both political extremes, I don't think there's too much to worry about.

Proud to live in London where, for all it's faults, we all basically get along. Tolerance and community!

With LA cops shooting unarmed female reporters standing in plain sight in the middle of the day and the IDF shooting 'near' people queuing for food but somehow killing them, I'm increasingly convinced that they must have both been trained at the same firing range.

Thighs had a tendency to stick to metal on the way down so you ended up slowly squeaking to the bottom.
Luckily the slide was no hotter than 85 or 90 degrees in high summer

Farage himself was fairly dismissive of Yusuf only a few days ago and seemed to indicate he knew it was coming and was resigned to it, so this is all very odd.

Thank you Peter!
1. The vast majority of British people think the bombing of civilians in Gaza is unforgivable.
2. They also believe that the Oct 7th massacre and taking of hostages is unforgivable too.
They want to see BOTH these facts acknowledged online or on marches or they won't support them.

Forgotten just how great a single this is.
Never seen this video, thanks for posting, is it the original or has it been created since?

True but in 2019 the membership was almost the same, 532,000 and at that election they had one of their worst results ever which sort of proves my point about party membership not being an accurate indicator or reflection of a National support.

To be fair to the BBC, Reform were expected to be a fairly distant 3rd so the fact they came within 1500 votes of 1st was major news.
However, the BBC didn't lead with this, instead highlighting the Labour win, with the Reform success some way down the headlines.

I think he will make a great new chairman for the party!

Could Farage go from being Reform's biggest asset to being their biggest source of rejection?
Next few months are crucial on this. His party looks rather ridiculous now with other MPs consistently being held up to ridicule.
comment in response to

Yes, not sure how accurate a reflection of national popularity a party's membership figures are. Weren't Labour membership figures under Corbyn the highest ever? 564,000 in 2017.

I have to say that I always thought he was too good for Reform, he stuck out like a sore thumb from the rest of the grifters.

Ah! Yes, that cancels everything else out.
Fair enough.
You make a very good point.
When did he do this? Was it before or after Pearl Harbour?
I forget.
A little unfair to condemn one term* of office on a single action designed to help his countrymen maybe but okay.
*sorry 4 terms.
Have a great day

2/2 They won't run into trouble until their policies are held up to the light and exposed as the headline grabbing, publicity statements that they are (they've learnt from Trump on this) with absolutely sweet FA substance to them.
The fact that they now run councils may also contribute to this.

I don't see this as anything other than a stumble for Reform, the momentum currently is too strong.
Remember, there were a lot of unpleasant Islamophobic comments from Reform supporters when he was appointed.
If they can survive the much more popular Rupert Lowe going, they will survive this.

I'd agree that it is less to do with the fact that the victims are Muslim and more to do with the fact that the aggressor is Israel. That doesn't make it right, of course.

I'm reading Daniel Finkelstein's excellent book, 'Hitler, Stalin, mum & dad' and am struck by how the Jews were largely abandoned to their fate by the World.
Whilst not on the same scale of course, this is another occasion where the World must not stand by.
This is simply good versus evil.

I absolutely marvel at the restraint the police often show in the face of appalling provocation.
We don't realise how lucky we are, try doing that in virtually any other country in the World and see how they'd react.

The average mentality of those who will be voting for Reform.
Brainwashed by a right wing press and media and with no independent thought.

All for show, of course, an easy win. Or so they think.

Great to see a reporter at the Farage press conference really take him to task over this. He looked genuinely rattled that anyone would do this, most reporters give him an easy ride.
We need a lot more of this!
And EVERY time he's interviewed he should be questioned about the results of Brexit!

Two Tear Keir would rather take the knee to foreign chefs and waiters than stand up for our pensioner's rights to eat chips whether they are on the menu or not!
ANOTHER EU law that Brexit freed us from is still being used to make our lives intolerable!
Vote Reform & Nigel will end this in 24 hours!
