I was also going to say hummus. Also similarly, baba ganoush.

I remember really liking Peril at Delphi and Dance of the Giants. The books did a decent job of filling in the start to Indy’s academic career.

There’s a bunch of pulpy Indy novels from the 90s that got reprinted when Kingdom of the Crystal Skull came out. Man, those stories go places … Indy got married, found Noah’s ark, and was occasionally chasing crystal skulls.

If you make grilled cheese, you have to go down the dreaded rabbit hole of butter vs mayo for the outside slices of bread. (I vote for whipped cream cheese.)

We make a pizza called The Festivus, based on a seasonal pizza served where we used to live. It’s got chicken, bacon, strawberries, red onion & cilantro.

Earlier this year, I did art of the rat doing a Turkish Get-Up (TGU), which was printed for one of the walls. If you live in Portland, this is a great gym! #illustration #pdxart

We used a Tacx bike mat under our indoor trainer. It was a … similarish material to a yoga mat but harder/textured. Our cats weren’t interested in it, but all cats are different in their scratching preferences. Probably a little runner or piece of turf would do the trick but would get sweaty.

I joined a team about three weeks before the race! I didn’t have an ideal prep, but my team was fun and very supportive. On my Portland leg, I got to run under the St. Johns Bridge, which I would never do in real life.

I haven’t done a marathon yet but I got to do the Hood to Coast relay race as a last-minute fill-in this year. Highly recommend that Oregon running experience, although one of the three legs is in the middle of the night.

Thanks! There are so many cool artists doing cool things around here. Best of luck with your book launch!

Their class is really fun. The group I was in had a neat combo of working artists and people who just wanted to give print-making a try.

I love this! The dusting of snow on the bears is a great extra.

There were a bunch of Dinotopia grade school novels that I loved as a kid. I’m not sure if it was the same artist on all of them, but I would stare at the covers for ages.

My childhood library also moved … into a big 90s-era fitness center. My mom says they kept the elevated track, which is honestly pretty cool.

Double numbers became a big problem for statisticians when coaches started using “you can be this jersey number” as a recruiting perk. Lots of teams with double numbers now, but usually on opposite sides of the ball.

If you have interest in another round of pizza (there is so much pizza here), Pizza Thief in NW is very good. Also recommend: Guero (tortas).

I might do some days of Retrosupply’s Fright-Fall. My art largely is not very Halloween-y, so it is a fun push.

I would DEFINITELY be on board to illustrate that episode if it ever exists.

Belated: Maybe a look at the Redwall series (and/or Watership Down and Mouse Guard). There seem to be an increasing number of indie games about little animals with swords at war.

I also give a vote to Pips. Tiny donuts are hot and made to order. Also they have multiple in-house chai flavors.

Here’s a look at the clean digital file. I love the imperfections and physicality of riso prints.

I got too out of the habit of posting once I stopped working in sports. I still like to browse here, but I don’t think I’ll ever be as invested in social media again.

I feel like the original Golden Sun games have a similar “too much talking” problem. I adored the games when they came out but the repeated, circular chatter was much harder to bear as an adult on replay.

There are many cats named Cosmo in this world, but this is the one who lives in my condo.

Thanks Debbie!
I’m Amanda and interested in retro-inspired picture books, young reader chapter books and board games. I illustrated an E.T. book and dig drawing pop culture tie-ins too.

Terrible trees! We had them surrounding my high school track with no choice at times but to breathe in deeply.

I saved Chuck-E-Cheese tickets for literal YEARS to get a big Jasper stuffed animal.
The ultimate test of patience for a little kid.
