Hardly a niche opinion but... anything by Brandon Sanderson for fantasy... The Mistborn trilogy has been my favorite. Doesn't take forever to set the scene and the world.

Every Western democracy will realign themselves to this new reality, that the US is not a reliable ally nor trading partner. Budapest? Gone. USMCA? Out. It's just the beginning. Whether he desperately wants isolation or doesn't realize he's pushing towards it...It'll be Israel and the US alone.

They're on the wrong side of history, even if they don't realize it yet. The rest of the democratic world does!.

DOGE is run like a startup, because that's what they know.. startup break things as fast as possible, and don't bother with security and privacy until they have a product market fit.
This is just the start of the many lessons of "Great businessman =/= great President"

I forgot to link the full article, but essentially #CHGG is mostly coming back from lows in the late fall/early winter, in terms of their app rankings, so I wouldn't call that a catalyst, rather coming back to normal speed wrt IAP

Yeah, identity politics and the rise of simple, stupid slogans is scary to witness in real time. How Republicans MAGA have managed to become the party of the working class whilst focusing on policies that do not benefit their base in the slightest will be a case study for the next generations!

Yes, no doubt about it. Yet it makes a lot of noise, and distracts people from those illegal actions.

Tariffs are a useful tool when targeted at precise industries that you are trying to protect e.g. EV cars vs Chinese heavily subsidized EV carmakers. Blanket 25% tariffs across the board on your allies is TERRIBLE for the US economy, for the sake of... sanctioning your allies? These are sanctions.

You're right, but that's a bully with a lot of power, and that's how he's going to operate. He's still talking about 51st state, which is dangerous on so many levels (imagine putting Albertans and Quebecers in a same state, I mean, common).

Well the market isn't impressed by 2x revenue and profitability it seems, expectations were higher 😂 -9%. The sound of cashing out I suppose!

That being said, they've just finished restructuring (essentially dropping all ops for non profitable games), and so that hit could not have come at a better time. Could be the catalyst they need for long-term profitability.

@dungeoninvesting.bsky.social Told ya! However they'll need to be able to sustain that revenue with less marketing/sales ops going forward to stay profitable in the longer course. But their first real success in a long time.

This shows the importance of following app ranks data (particularly grossing ranks) for mobile stores. That's what we do.
#Drecom is making a lot more than they used to with this Wizardry game, and investors have now started piling on before the earnings. We went in before them.

Appreciate the SO!
Chinese stocks aren't for the faint of heart, morals or not. But their mobile industry is so dynamic, it's hard to stay away.
This isn't looking like a major long term trend though - downloads have already plummeted from their high. Tiktok's back.

No, and none of their games were hitting anything close to this one, which is why it's a potential catalyst. They were focusing on dropping unprofitable games, I'm hoping they're not dropping their guard on cost reduction by way of this success. They need both to be real profitable.

@dungeoninvesting.bsky.social You may have some interest in the old school Wizardry franchise coming back to life!

It's not a mobile exclusive game either, so that can also drastically change the behavior. Sometimes the mobile version is an afterthought and not needed. Sometimes it's an important part of the gameplay (e.g. RO:Origin) and people playing have to download it.

Its best download rankings are in Canada, Chile, Turkey, Thailand.. where it's been #1 in the "Action" subcategory of games on iOS. These look like countries they really launched.

I see it launched in about 30 countries - incl. Nordics+Netherlands+Belgium in EU and Australia/NZ + Canada. Also in every country in soft america.
Thailand, HK and even the bigger South Korea and Taiwan. To be fair, maybe they're not doing any advertising and it's just 'available' in many of those

Not sure how high were expectations for that one in those markets it launched in, but it's unlikely to be noticeable on their earnings!

Is it supposed to be a test market launch? Glancing through the data, it's been out in many countries already. It's hit top 50 in downloads in Canada/Turkey on iOS for example, but that's about it. That's not really a feat I gotta say. Didn't hit the top 500 in grossing anywhere it seems.
