Disgruntled, pessimistic burnout constantly wondering wtf is wrong with people and just wants to be left alone with beautiful art, dreams, stories, and games to hide from reality with. Don’t follow me, I don’t post anything worth following.

#1 Reason it is hard to get a group to try something new by committing money to a few books to at TTRPG they might not like. Case in point, getting my group to try Cypher is like pulling teeth. Going to try some 5e adjacent systems like Nimble 5e next. ANYTHING for faster combat.

Disagree: The GBA SP was the perfect form and it could play all the games.

I think that describes us all at this point.

I don’t think I’ve redone a significant puzzle since I was a kid. My family assemble a 3500 piece one every year for the holidays. Just some time together and a reminder that when we work together even big problems are solvable. Then we box it back up and promptly donate it to the thrift store.

Soft mod it and install the Homebrew channel? There are places on the internet where one can get the entirety of the Wii shop channel to load on a modded Wii/Wii U.

They are hunting for bears emerging from hibernation. Those animals are so goofy looking they could be mistaken for missing links from other angles or me in the morning.

I hear the soundtrack looking at this picture.

I think the Crocodile Dundee movie ruined them. No telling how many got ripped off and attempted to be used as boomerangs.

Also no matter what game you make, it will never make everyone happy. So input from everyone isn’t valid.
comment in response to post
Making games is a hard line to walk between making the game you want to make and the game you want to sell. Make the game you want to make if it makes you happy. Those dark souls guys made a whole genre out of making the game they wanted. Sometimes it works out.

My guilty pleasure is rolling with pre-gens and giving them character. Go into it blind grab a pre-gen and rolling with it.

Seconded on the GBA, it was like having a portable SNES and a lot of the best titles were ported to it. IMO it still has the best versions of FF 1,2,4, and 6.

You should check out “I am a Hero” too. Another wacky Japanese zombie flick.

Sounds similar to Mid-world from The Dark Tower series by Steven King.

Kickin ass and proving dangly bits don’t matter.

Of course it was attached to a great game as well. Probably the longest I spent with any fighting game series, unlocking weapons and costumes.

That song was a banger. The tune would get stuck in my head for days.
comment in response to post
Seconded. I bought it twice, once on the DC and once on the GC. It was a fun game.

Did you see “The Monkey”? They went with the whole off-the-wall angle like “Cabin in the Woods”. A lot more gore though.
comment in response to post
I would too, but it has one issue. It’s hard to go up from there. You basically start them at the top.

Probably not.

Clipping was always my bane. Just wondering if anyone ever figured out a good way for models to have self-collision. Still looks great.
comment in response to post
We do, but it can burn you out. There are a lot of people, plants, and animals that need help in this world through no fault of their own.
comment in response to post
Looks great! Got some clipping on the right wing and the arm, but that is a really cool model. Have you weighted the skeleton for animation?

Never trust a man who looks down on nuggets and their larger cousins the chicken tender/finger.

Also not for 150 - 200 bucks. 450 - 150 is still $300. Screen, battery time, power balance engineering requirements are a significant investment you don't need in a box without those things. Just watch the heat profile and let the designers go nuts making it pretty. But maybe not those Sony guys.
comment in response to post
Not additional SKU, only SKU. The current form is too big to be called portable gaming. It isn't something that fits in a pocket or travels well out of case. The DS/3DS were all pushing on the large side before they went to the XL model. The current price is another reason to leave it at home.
comment in response to post
You think it may be something with overloaded eshop authentication servers? Mine has been pretty solid but it took 3 hours to download MKW. The family has dropped about 20 hours on MKW without any crashes. But we haven’t played anything else on it yet.
comment in response to post
Old enough to vote, old enough to be retro. Any other definition is just gate keeping for unknown reason. Right now you are seeing the kids who are now paying taxes remembering their ‘old’ systems. If a person was 6 and got a gamecube new, they are 30 now.
comment in response to post
Yeah, but what if it could have been $150 cheaper and the size of an appleTV. I would have found that preferable. I don’t have a use scenario for portable. If it was still the size of a GBA yeah. But as is, it’s just too big for ‘on-the-go’ gaming.
comment in response to post
I’d like a switch that was only a dock. No screen, no batteries to worry about. I wonder how much cheaper it would be? My Switch never left the dock very often and I highly doubt my switch 2 will either. Cant think of a time I’d want to be out in public with my face buried in it.

FML. Why have I never seen this. I’ve been dealing with painted fingertips, gloves, and even needle-nose pliers. I’m stealing this method.

I think I’d just sample a good break to a midi keyboard and use that. Or give the guy a morocco or tamborine.

I’ll buy it when it comes to PC. I think I’m done with console games that stop working every generation or being forced to rebuy it. That said I do love FFT. Especially the sound track.

There are so many words we could shorten by getting rid of unpronounced letters and odd spellings. My kids are constantly asking questions about why words are spelt the way they are. ex. Tough and Through.
comment in response to post
You keep using those words but obviously don’t understand them. Please re-read the statements, then subtract that part of your brain telling you to hate and interpret everything as a challenge. Blanket statements always lead to ignorance. Enjoy yelling on the internet like a babboon.

Emotional speech without logic is how the US ended up with a bumbling idiot as president. (Lower case). Step back from the rage baiting vitriol. Thoughtful language isn’t being traitorous. Lack of thought however directly leads to the cluster fuck of constitution ignoring treachery you fear.
comment in response to post
I fail to see how I misread a open ended statement that has no specificity. If you American and angry at Ukraine, then yes then you are traitorous. The United States isn’t the world or something everyone should be loyal to. Especially the current administration.
comment in response to post
I mean they could be Russians. Or Russian allies like Belarus. They wouldn’t like it or be happy about it. They also wouldn’t be traitors. Russian people could be scared/angry because now Putin may take even more of their children to put in the meat grinder to satisfy his ego.

So 18 or 28 segments/blocks. Those are some odd sizes. Whelp google adventure time again! You obviously nailed down the sizes by being able to create your own. 👍
comment in response to post
An odd question occurred to me. Are those dot codes read into a buffer then interpreted or is it inline interpretation? Could you just make one long barcode on longer card stock instead of 2 strips? Not that it would be easier to store just wondering if extending the dot bars is feasible.

It has a very 1995 feel to it. Like you expect it to have one of those rubberized ball bearings that ball mice used to have. It has zero of the current bean shape that mice have. Looks great next to the 8bitdo retro keyboard though.

The biggest con of debt slavery is giving you just enough to know you would have to start with less anywhere else. There are no countries that would wholesale take our poor. Our affluent, sure. Not our poor though.
comment in response to post
Poor english speaking Americans illegally migrating South for a better life would be a hilarious turn. There aren’t any countries that will take fleeing Americans that would be a step up. The ones that would are across oceans. That takes money.

I agree that designing encounters so that add-ons were required was a big problem. But I don’t think they have the chops to do it any other way. They already seem to have an ingrained belief wow players have 11 fingers on the left hand.

That is some cold shit right there.

They aren’t young and educated and they lack the funds to move even if they were. Debt slavery is a real thing. When you are barely getting by, getting a passport, plane ticket and somewhere to sleep and work in another country is a big ask.
