Remarkably strong correlation between pundits who told me the Supreme Court upholding Texas’s abortion bounty hunter law was technical and not a sign it would overturn Roe, and pundits assuring me birthright citizenship is fine because people can “just file a class action” or whatever

Thinking about the tut-tutting Democratic politicians who spent their two years in power warning that Supreme Court expansion was too radical an idea to even think about taking seriously. You absolute fucking rubes. You gigantic, credulous losers. I hope you are ashamed of yourselves today.

Spot on. This is the clearest explanation I’ve seen. It ‘s relatable, and humanizes the issue in a way everyone can understand.

almost ten years ago. what a different world this would be if people had listened instead of mocking her.

It’s not “skepticism.” It’s opposition. His agenda is to end vaccines.

no amount of free money is going to get people to have children in a stagnant society of rampant corruption and dwindling opportunity

The left better start figuring out how to weaponize today's decision rather than just (rightfully) criticizing it. - Go back into Judge Kaczmaryk's court to dissolve all of his nationwide orders. - Pass gun bans and insist any order applies only to plaintiffs.

this court says that allowing EPA to regulate carbon emissions is a "major question" that demands congressional debate. but allowing the president to, with a flick of the wrist, end a straightforward constitutional right is something that must be allowed to stand?

So am I reading this court decision correctly? We now have 50 micronations with their own laws interpreting the U.S. Constitution wholly separate from one another? But there's one guy with private law enforcement who is immune from all punishment who can do whatever he wants in those 50 states?

So, liberal parents who can ground their beliefs in religion (many do) can opt out of: - abstinence only education - Baby Olivia videos - reading Ayn Rand - any class that talks about Donald Trump or this Supreme Court This is going to be fun. (And by "fun" I mean "utter and complete nonsense").

Wow that’s broad. Incredibly broad. www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/24p...

Monstrous: "They were crying in fear. One of the agents at one point lifted up his shirt, which displayed the gun that he was carrying....The 6-year-old boy was terrified to see the gun. He urinated on himself and wet all his clothing. No one offered him a change of clothing for many hours."

You need books for kids about things like queerness without parental awareness because—and I cannot say this any plainer—some parents are truly shitty fucking human beings who would rather their kid be dead than queer. I don’t fucking care what those parents "believe."

The key theme is not any judicial philosophy. The Roberts majority doesn’t use any consistently. The key theme is aggressive quick action against those who try to enforce the laws and Constitution on Trump. And extreme passivity on Trump’s illegal actions. It’s an anti-anti-Trump court.

Most of the ideas mentioned in this article—higher minimum wage, free tuition at public colleges, higher taxes on the rich—are not only popular now but were realities in the past, including in NYC, during the booming postwar years, when America was “great.”/1 www.nytimes.com/2025/06/25/u...

Brilliant. 10/10. No notes.

Today, Pete Hegseth bristled when a reporter pointed out that a woman was among the pilots in the Iran bombing mission and asked why he referred to the pilots collectively as "the boys." He ranted that it doesn't matter. Wasn't the election for them partly about defining the word "woman"?

Some people think this is an exaggeration but I will say that if I were HHS Secretary and my goal were to kill as many children as possible, it would be difficult to distinguish the actions I would take from those that Kennedy has taken.

one of the projects of the court is to expand the ability of states to pursue reactionary ends and constrain the ability of the federal government to set minimum standards *or* of democratic-led states to expand upon existing rights

There's something really interesting going on here methodologically in Justice Jackson's Medina v. Planned Parenthood dissent. You can see it in one footnote. In short, Jackson is emphasizing that Black Americans are part of the original "public" about which "originalists" should be concerned.

This, in a nutshell, is what most stands out to me about the last three years since the Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade: Conservatives desperate to codify a worldview that women actively oppose.

Okay, I take it back, the mushroom ID thing WASN’T the worst use of AI.

The only surprising part about this is it took him this long to think to blame dems

Conventional wisdom among the DC/NY press corps is that Trump is strong on immigration enforcement. But that isn't reflected in polling. People hate it. So tell me: Who's in the bubble? Bluesky users or mainstream media editorial writers?

Deporting children of military veterans because they were born on an overseas military base. This man has no citizenship now.

People are surprised that Cuomo isn't dropping out of the general election, but it's actually pretty on-brand for him to ignore the consent of others.

After embarrassing itself with the Cuomo endorsement, I assume the NYT will do months of penance for getting it wrong by doing stories about talking to Mamdani voters in NYC diners. That’s the Good Journalism, right?

Budzinski: Families making over $700,000 a year will see a boost of $12,000 almost entirely from tax cuts. Shockingly, households making $23,000 a year or less are set to lose about $1600 a year, mostly due to deep cuts to Medicaid and food assistance

The current administration has more successfully destroyed US science and the scientific enterprise than the hypothetical nuclear weapons program in Iran.

Careful guys, if you don’t control migration you might turn out like <checks notes> the greatest, wealthiest city in the world.

Once again, it must be said as loudly as possible: AI can't do the things described in this paragraph, and there is no pathway to it ever being able to do them.

If a Democratic appointee indulged in this level of self-serving decadence, we'd never hear the end of it, and I feel like we should be hearing a lot more about this

How do they get away with this? The bill they passed cuts Medicaid by $793 BILLION. $793 BILLION. It's in the bill. They wrote it. Their own budget office says 10 million people will lose Medicaid coverage. Just wild.

I think this is good advice that works in all directions fwiw and the left would also do well to remember theyre better off getting on board with a candidate that the public likes but that they might have an area or two of disagreement than calling them awful sellouts & encouraging ppl to stay home

MERKLEY: How do you feel about being responsible for hundreds of thousands of kids dying because of your sudden interruption in these key programs? VOUGHT: I reject the assertion MERKLEY: I find your response both ignorant & callous. Few Americans have had a more devastating & disastrous impact

Hegseth is mad that the truth got out. So he’s going to get to the bottom of that.

Tesla's Supervised Robotaxi launch was a pathetic flop. Tesla's Supervised Robotaxi launched yesterday to much acclaim from the Tesla Cult. Since nobody who was at the event has properly summarized the first day, we thought we would do it. Below are our findings. 🧵

Emil Bove, a senior Department of Justice official, suggested the department should tell courts “f*** you” and ignore their orders to carry out President Donald Trump’s aggressive deportations, according to a whistleblower complaint by a former DOJ attorney. www.democracydocket.com/news-alerts/...
