This ground-breaking book came out in 1974 (back when fantasy by women was still thin on the ground) and so many writers of my generation were hugely influenced by it, as well as by her subsequent work. She was an absolutely master of fantasy literature, and deserves to be more widely known as such.

My working theory of a lot of NT people is that they are far more rigid than autistic people, because I can generally explain things rationally to an autistic person and we can work out something, but many NT people will cling to rote acceptable behaviour they're not even aware is a choice

Session 0 of my new Arabian-themed Swords of the Serpentine campaign: COMPLETE! In Dec. we finished the six-year-long SotS campaign set in Eversink. Now it’s new heroes, new setting, new tone, and a whole lot of genies. Session 0s are the best. Built the world, pitched heroes, set expectations.
