This happened with ff16 imo, to me i don't care that its not punishingly difficult. I like creating stylish combos and the story, you feel powerful and it's great. People didn't like how "easy" it was.

I feel this so much from a viewer perspective too. Whenever i tune into a new ffxiv player or any other game I like it kinda ruins the enjoyment a bit from seeing genuine reactions. And from a personal standpoint, I like figuring stuff out! That's half the fun for me.
