In particular, the fieldwork project in the Potenza Valley (Le Marche, Italy) became groundbreaking through its combination of non-invasive prospections and excavations.

He transitioned from fieldwork in rainy Flanders to various projects in the more sunny western Mediterranean (Italy, Corsica, Portugal). He published numerous articles and books on various topics such as #urbanization and #settlement-archaeology, #geoarchaeology and #landscape-archaeology.

On the Campus Ledeganck there were experiments with Prehistorical stone tools and Roman metal ones. The audience was tested on their knowledge on animal bones and zooarchaeology and could get some hands on experience. Much was learned and we’re excited for the next edition, we hope you too?
