I should probably add, because I got jammed for saying this, part of crisis of the Trumpocene are people who refuse to vote for Democrats, many of whom (Ivy League professors!) could not imagine (or claimed in bad faith they didn't believe) Trump would be worse than Harris for the Middle East.

Although I can sympathise, as a non-academic economist, I think this is somewhat of a self-inflicted wound by mainstream economists.

You might be able to restore source code but a system like this will also require access to data stores (usually but not always in a database) which could be corrupted separately. And the failure modes can be subtle and/or silent.
