Real people attract real people & fakes tend to avoid authentic people I respect people who don't sugarcoat, who are blunt, say what others NEED to hear, not what they want to hear. People who love, appreciate, value & accept you for who you are instead of for who they want you to be & do for them

Good read. Even Europe, a scene relatively well covered, suffers - we often speak of the continent as a homogenous whole, rather than a collection of national scenes with distinct tastes, like the German market’s historical preference for home computers or the Portuguese success of the Sega Saturn.

This point bears repeating every time I see it. Games culture in Europe is so distinct, but has been so hard to preserve due to the massive amount of US games historians retelling their own 'national' historical account, being picked up by creators and becoming the norm for many folks.
