Have you heard Once Human? I discovered them via this Sepultura cover, and was like "holy shit, who is that vocalist?" youtu.be/x7ZyiczFh4o?...

Ahh that's a good driving tip, I'll have to remember that one for next time I'm on the 401

The shit I see on the 401 is absolutely crazy. Some people have a death wish.

Yes, crime crime is on the rise. Someone needs to do something

Finally the one spoken of in the ancient tablets, who can wield this ring to drink the skeleton juice and absorb it's power without coming to harm

All the health packs he took in the first game that immediately healed him from any wound, no matter how serious, also make him a little bit younger every time he takes one. Problem solved.

Though to be honest, even if I were responsible for such things, buying emails from spam lists would merit an instant ignore anyway. So tacky

Oh yes. They seem to be exceedingly clueless about the fact that some random programmer at a large corporation has nothing to do with choosing whatever service they're offering

I actually liked one of the ways in which it was bad. The boss fight at the end came up and I was like "I can't be bothered with this", but nothing in it seemed to actually damage the player, so you could just sit and watch.

It's also really weird that the Founding Fathers created this system of checks and balances, but also very clearly intended for the executive branch to have unlimited power and immunity to prosecution; thus rendering said checks and balances completely meaningless.

Plus things like the landlord having a say in whether or not you can have pets. (In Ontario they can't do this) I never encountered that myself when I lived in the UK (I'm from Scotland originally), but I've heard that in some places it's almost impossible to find a place where you can have a dog

Yes, and there are long term negative financial consequences that will catch up to you if you rent your whole life, which is one reason why people chose owning a house over a short commute. You can pay a house off. You never finish paying your rent. This is a problem when you hit retirement age.
comment in response to post
Can easily happen in lots of places, like Toronto for example. A lot of people have to choose between ever being able to own a house, and a ridiculously long commute to work. Because owning a house _in_ Toronto is a pipe dream for most people, even those with very high paying jobs.

Definitely a sign of the times that anyone uses that argument as anything other than a bit in a standup set

But I wanted to bypass decades of mastering a skill by having a computer do it for me, while still somehow getting the respect that comes with putting decades of hard work into mastering that skill. Who could have seen this coming, it's so unfair.

It's normally "radical left lunatics" that get holiday greetings these days

Yeah and if it's a game where I feel like I want it to be more accessible, I have a keyboard that has extra bindable keys on the left for easy access

I always assumed that they're spatial dimensions. So 3D chess is like the chess they play in Star Trek with the different layers. But it works either way I guess, because you'd still have to be smarter than any human being alive to play chess with an extra temporal dimension.

Oh no! Fingers crossed for her

Yeah you lose what you brought in with you if you die or otherwise fail to extract. The appeal for me is that the persistent element adds stakes to the game. You're risking something every time you go in. (Or you can go in with nothing and see how much you can extract with, that's also fun)

I hear if you ask nicely, banks/landlords have to accept the tears of people who have purple hair instead of money. So it all cancels out really if you think about it

Yeah it's amazing how good I can look, just for never having punched a hole in drywall haha

Well aside from Rishi Sunak to be fair. While I'm obviously very much not a fan, not being a fan of the Tories, he at least had the distinction of looking good by comparison to the absolute clown show that was the previous two PM's
comment in response to post
The last few years of the Tory government in the UK were hilarious, because it was basically just a loop of "honko the clown has resigned, so the next PM is the clown that was second in line to be picked last time"
comment in response to post
Yeah it helped that she was basically one of the bargain basement default picks, after a couple of bargain basement Tory PM's had already quit. So no cult of personality there

She's trying to pull the "erm no actually the reason my budget crashed and burned was actually because of woke" and pivot into being a right wing grifter. Which is hilarious because I don't think even the right take her seriously

I often wonder how up to date nuclear target lists are... Like are there ex nuclear silos in the US that are now private residences, but still lined up to receive a direct hit, thus completely defeating the point?

Guaranteed you end up falling to your death trying to figure out how to get onto the ladder from the top
comment in response to post
With the added bonus that unless you're playing a third person action game where entering and leaving the ladder is an X interact, that they're a massive pain to use as a player too

Of all of these, the most useless are promotional emails for the 407. "Hey guys, this Easter season remember that there's a road, and if you drive on it you have to give us money. Celebrate family by driving up and down the 407 a few times"
comment in response to post
Not necessarily, personally I don't subscribe to the view that love of country always manifests as far right nationalism or "my country is better than yours". Scotland is a good example where if you look at the independence movement as an example, it's generally pro-EU, pro-immigration, etc.

My university course wasn't the _best_, and we still had it hammered into us _why_ there are systems that are still running outdated COBOL codebases. That people who graduate from prestigious universities are unaware of this is... Not a good sign to say the least

If Massive/Snowdrop isn't part of this new thing then they're absolutely crazy imho. Some of the best tech they have

Also the people that make all these things for a living, need to learn how to do it. Who is going to be rewriting the networking code in <insert name of any big game engine here> in 20 years? The people who have learned how to write their own network code.
