In a market of ideas wholly subsumed by Capital - Academics vie for impact scores and cutthroat positions, or sparse jobs, and institutionally - well - you see where major Universities stand on manufacturing consent for fascist regimes to begin purges. We as an Academy are leaning in to fascism.

There is no material benefit to the American public to attack constructive scientific and policy related activities meant to enrich the lives of those who fall downstream of their impact. A key item that makes this all the more possible is the Academy has never been farther from the proletariat.

Or, we will lose momentum on a 6-year effort to build a grassroots initiative to conduct a total workforce registry and census of our State’s career and volunteer fire first responders - a key part of our resilient infrastructure as a State and necessary for sustainable administration of staff.
