Didn’t she only play like 480-odd minutes and still score three goals, though? Hard to extrapolate when the data set is so minimal.

For the last 2 years a Kyra/Wally combo hasn’t worked all that well, to the point of ppl thinking we couldn’t use both at the same time. Today felt a lot smoother. Do u think it was a result of the opponent’s lack of pressure, of changing strategies, or an evolution of the aims of the partnership?

Feels like she was a 1 year old like five seconds ago, what do you mean she’s so big now

The flashbacks to 18/19 and 22/23 are too real right now.

Ahh, I’d forgotten about that previous call up. Maybe he thinks she’s older and she’ll be able to slot in better and faster for the summer 🤷🏻♀️

Quite surprised to see Hoffman there but not Fudalla?

one of Wally or Kim are available until we get Vic back the right way forward? Or do we need to go looking in the market? (☕️ 👀)

convince me that that’s her best path forward, even after 2 years. Tim’s said that he thinks KCC is the LW replacement w/ Vic as the KL one. Do you think that’s still true? Or do you think we’ve proven now that maybe KCC should be the KL replacement w/ Vic as the LW one? Is the hoping that (cntd)

It bothers me how huge our reliance is on either Wally or Kim being fit to look like ourselves. While it’s unlikely we’ll use yesterday’s midfield a lot, W+K are huge players for us who are older w/ on and off availability. KCC was ostensibly bought as a 6 but we still haven’t seen enough to (1/2)

That’s a matter of opinion. I (and many others) think she’s a good deal better.

And yet, somehow, I think we may have enough of those already.

Crazy to me to throw the bag at Walsh when Coffey seems to now be available…

And it’s three players total, no matter if you drop more than one overseas player, if I recall correctly. Which would then point to probably not signing anyone else this window.

The voice break on ‘son’?? I can’t. Incredible beyond measure.

Same. I rewatched it in late October for some reassurance vibes for my anxiety and the election (worked out real well, clearly) and I had the same goosebumps. The walking toward the dais, the cigarette, Martin’s acting, just 🤌🏻🤌🏻

Best episode of TV that I’ve ever seen. Iconic in every possible way.

Also worth pointing out that Nighswonger played as a forward and midfielder during her uni career and only switched to a very offensive FB when she went pro and joined Gotham.

Both matches this season. I just don’t know what to say anymore, it’s so ridiculous.

Psychological shit before the game to pump up their fans and make our players nervous, is my guess

Same with, ‘interested’. We’re probably interested in a million players, doesn’t mean it’s going anywhere. I don’t get excited until it’s a, ‘close to bringing in ___’. Just not worth it.

Often times that’s the risk you take. Happens with elite teams all the time, and has happened to us a million times in our history. Unfortunately it’s part and parcel of the game. The best players (a la Pelova) make themselves undroppable.

This seems to be more logical for me. Working on her retention+dueling skills, and hopefully once we see that improve, we’ll get a glimpse of more of the proper player. I also wonder if she’ll get a chance as a 10 with a Wally/Kim double pivot, as that would give a lot of backbone+sweeping up help.

Very different players at very different points in their careers. Fox was much more established, more regular international, etc.

Big difference mentally between 2 and 4. 2 feels hard but doable. 4 feels impossible.

But my overall point is that it’s more complicated than numbers suggest and people may think they’re getting one thing but it turns into something else. Anyway, feels like we’ve dragged this one on long enough. /fin

in the UK, but it’s now $95 in the US.
So the draw that Tim discussed originally is deceptive in some ways, in that players can think they’re earning more than they would in the UK but they don’t know about the higher living numbers until they arrive. Whether or not that affects the (cntd)

income.
Put it this way: player A makes $125k in the US when they’d make maybe £65k in the UK. They’d look at that and think, ‘wow, I can make lots more money in the US, salaries are higher, I should move there!’ But what they’re not factoring in is that a grocery bill may have been £65 in (cntd)

relatively similarly. It just looks like more.
So if you look at only the numbers, it’ll look like someone in the US is earning more. But they’re also spending more bc the numbers (not just cost of living) are higher. They could be (and usually are) spending a similar percentage of their (cntd)

Again, it appears like it is more expensive because the numbers are different. So to a visitor, it’ll look like they’re paying more for food, etc. But locals are earning more in comparison, but they also spend more bc numbers are higher. Percentage wise of your income, you end up spending (cntd)

No, just less in terms of numbers and incidentals like health insurance/copays, etc. But just pure numbers wise, it can seem to a European player that they’re making more cos they’re making higher numbers but it’s not as much as they think because everything else is also higher numbers wise.
comment in response to

What’s interesting too is that the numbers appear higher but the cost of living is higher too (everything is adjusted up). So it feels like you’re making more money in comparison but it goes less far. And now that you don’t get housing (but maybe extra pay based on location? Not sure), it’ll add up.

It’s all well and good to rotate around prior to the ball coming into the final third but when there’s such little movement in possession when the 6s/back line have it, you’re gonna struggle enormously. Have to be better.
