The youngest millennials are 29. We're not young people anymore. As much as I'd like to pretend otherwise. This was the first election in which Gen Z could vote.

Part of what has worked for the right is the spreading false information. That's not something I want to engage in even if we would be effective. I think we need to counter Fox News but I'm not sure that people find the truth compelling.

Project 2025 plans to make it easier to successfully sue for providers of gender affirming care for medical malpractice. A provider could do everything right & not be negligent in any way & still lose a suit. This is huge & will make care much harder to find.

The venn diagram of men who care about "ethics in womens sports and men comment "But can she make a sandwich?" on any article about a women's accomplishments is a perfect circle.

Project 2025 wants to end NFIP which is deeply concerning. It could really harm a lot of people, even people who aren't in flood zones
comment in response to post
It's too expensive, significantly below actuarial rates & provides limited coverage. The Biggert Waters act attempted to correct the rate & increased prices dramatically and was then revised. NFIP also has to be reauthorized by Congress & it has been allowed to lapse in the past.

They didn't capitulate. France, Belguim & England lost the battle. There 90k people were killed & 200k people were wounded. They fought & lost. Germany occupied 20 countries. France wasn't cowardly.

The French resistance was a force to be reckoned with. They never gave up. A lot of brave people risked torture and death fighting the Nazis. The idea that France rolled over and let Germany win shows a poor understanding of history.

You'll note that he only engages with mockery. He avoids direct good faith questions. When someone keeps repeating the same question without getting sidetracked, he stops responding. He needs our attention. We don't need his.

Arguing with him makes him money and allows him to promote himself to a larger audience. He's going to publish an anti-trans book. We don't need to give him free PR.

I understand what you're saying. The issue is that he's made a career of playing the victim. He wasn't getting engagement from us on Twitter, so he came here.

"And again I say unto you, It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God." Matthew 19:24

I 100% agree with you. It's so disingenuous. People treat him like a journalist & ignore his rabidly transphobic fan base. If Signal was a trans advocate, they'd certainly pull the wildest takes from his subreddit. He's not so they ignore the racism, transphobia & conspiracy theories his fans post.

If he was somehow convinced he is actually an impartial journalist who is supporting trans rights but seeking a more evidence based approach, one look at the subreddit for his podcast would convince him otherwise. He may have once been a journalist but he's nothing more than a hateful grifter now.

She can't even memorize 6 sentences? Pathetic.

Did he ever have touch with reality? I'm skeptical.

Wow. That op-ed is horrifying. I wish I could cancel my NYT subscription a second time.
