I find that many people want to be able to claim theyâre a good person without challenging or confronting their own internal views as potentially harmful to minorities.

That only peaceful protest is brought up or seen as necessary and as something that actually works. Changes to laws in favor of shirking subjugation are brought by blood. People in power cling to it with whatever might they can.

No, people who are bigots will not change because they suddenly grew morals. It works for someâthose already teetering on the precipice of the knowledge that what society is doing is wrongâbut the vast majority wonât change or care. A threatening to the way of life is necessary. Itâs why I hateâ

My focus on the âdoing nothingâ was because it removed the ability for the media to portray them as inciting the violence. MLK was incredibly intelligent in how he handled his protests to support the cause. However, the argument of peace driving civil rights is a product of education erasing otherâ

Youâre reading into it too deep. Iâm saying that he was intentional with where he chose to hold his protests because he knew that white people needed to see black kids doing nothing but sitting there being hurt to care in the slightest. People in power will ignore silent and peaceful protests.

Abuse has to be severe and repeated, alongside many reports to actually result in kids being removed from their homes. CPS is not as effective as making a call to an abusive home means that child is immediately removed.

It wasnât my friend, it was my STUDENT. And their parents didnât lose rights. If you think that parents who mistreat their LGBTQIA+ children often lose their rights, youâre a bit naive.

MLKâs protests only worked because they successfully goaded the other side into violence. He sought out violent towns to turn his protestors into martyrs. Malcolm X was also important for the rightsâ movement. Unfortunately, change never happens without bloodshed. Peace alone isnât effective.

I will also never forget when one of my students was outed by a friend and sent to conversion therapy. Just because you had a good outcome doesnât mean it always is. There are awful, awful people out there who have children. Those kids deserve protection.

Teachers DO have the right to protect children. Theyâre mandated reporters for a reason. If a child says âIâm gay, but my mom will send me to conversion camp if she finds outâ, no good teacher would out that child. Respecting kids isnât âkeeping secrets from the parentsâ, itâs basic decency.

And in many places in the US, teachers are being forced to out kids who use different pronouns or names. In some districts, you canât call kids preferred names or nicknames. Just because trans people have better rights someplace doesnât mean theyâre protected everywhere.

It's baffles me on how quickly the government can ban TT/Lemon8 to "protect us" but can't shut down/ban child p*rn/assault rifles to protect children. I'd rather keep TT and have them tell me Thoughts and Prayers.
