Quick reminder... there are 2 deadlines coming up tomorrow (Fri. 2/28) Proposals for US Educational STEM contacts are due by 11:59 PM PT tomorrow night. 16-25 y.o. wanting to participate in the FRAM2Ham event need to announce their team via the F2H discord.

There are updates to this weekend's scheduled ARISS radio outages. The planned work on Friday in the Columbus module has been postponed. Sunday's restoration times after the Progress docking will vary by radio.

The ARISS radios appear to be back in service after the undocking. The next outage event is scheduled for Friday.

NASA is preparing for the next crew rotation to the International Space Station with the Crew 10 mission. Three ham radio operators will be headed up to the ISS in March.

The first of this week's activities that will impact availability of the ham radios on the ISS is about to get underway. Check the chart for times and the remainder of this week's radio impacting activities.

Getting ready to work the ISS voice repeater or send some APRS packets? Check your power levels. Best practice is to use 5 watts and a directional antenna.

Did you get your certificate for the FRAM2Ham SSTV event? Over 750 have been sent out. Didn't get it? Check the list of Expedition 72-4 awards issued by visiting ariss.pzk.org.pl/sstv/ and clicking the "Read More" link for this series.

It will be a busy week for ARISS outages on the ISS. So, before you get out your gear to work some satellites, check the list of outage times below.

There's still time to get a team together for the FRAM2Ham event. 16-25 year-olds are eligible to participate. Read more about it in the graphic, then visit their site for a deeper dive. They are at FRAM2Ham.com.

Educational STEM contacts like the one in Georgia this week start with a proposal. In the US, proposals are due 2/28 for contacts in late 2025. So get those in by next Friday! In Europe, Africa and the Middle East applications are due by March 28. Visit ariss.org for more info.

Contact update for Morocco! Suni Williams will now talk with students at the Royal Moroccan Air Academy in Marrakech via ham radio from the International Space Station. It remains scheduled for Fri. 21-Feb at 11:12 UTC | 6:12 AM ET | 12:12 PM WEST direct via CN8ERA. Listen on 145.800 MHz FM.

@arissintl.bsky.social #Fram2Ham thanks for a great event, UHF presented more of a challenge, but signals were great, I operated remotely from work so tracking Pol changes was tricky. Icom 9700, satpc32, MMSSTV, Wimo XQuad @2m0sql.com Pass-recorder #iss #sat #hamr #ariss #sstv

Great images showing on social from the FRAM2Ham ISS Simulations today. Thank you so much for holding these! This has helped the team members practice the same way they will work during the F2 mission.

Contact in the US later today! Students at Woodward Mill Elementary School in Lawrenceville, Georgia, will speak to Don Pettit on the ISS via ham radio. Scheduled today at 16:37 UTC | 11:37 AM ET direct via K4RGK.

Contact upcoming with Morocco! Students at the Royal Moroccan Air Academy in Marrakech will talk via ham radio with Don Pettit on the International Space Station. Scheduled for Fri. 21-Feb at 11:12 UTC | 6:12 AM ET | 12:12 PM WEST direct via CN8ERA. Listen live on 145.800 MHz FM.

ARISS hosted another SPARKI Workshop last weekend at KSC. Educators with upcoming contacts learn using hands-on activities. They bring these back to with their students to help them learn about radio communications. The teachers even participated in the SSTV event and captured 1 of the images!

Quick reminder! Submit your images from the FRAM2Ham ISS Simulation SSTV event through 12:00 UTC / 7:00 AM ET on Thursday. Upload them at ariss-usa.org/ARISS_SSTV/ Certificates will start to go out after that and feel free to share your images on social media after that time.

ARISS is pleased to work with the Italian Space Agency (ASI) and Qascom to enable a GNSS experiment on the ISS. The experiment is underway from the Columbus module.

The FRAM2Ham simulation from the ISS has ended transmissions. The image below has the latest updates. The ham community has been *AMAZING* at supporting our request to hold off posting your reception images to social media. Thank you so much! Let's see your stuff Thursday!

Contact upcoming in the US! Students at Woodward Mill Elementary School in Lawrenceville, Georgia, will speak to Don Pettit, KD5MDT, on the International Space Station via ham radio. Scheduled for Thu. Feb. 20 at 16:37 UTC | 11:37 AM ET direct via K4RGK. Listen live or watch on YT.

We're halfway there in the FRAM2 SSTV practice event and we have almost 1,000 image submissions! The biggest feedback so far is about the need to track the Doppler shift... so there's a tip for you! Continue to hold those decodes from social until Thursday, THANKS!

Congratulations to the the team at Clifton Arts Center in NJ on a successful contact Wednesday. If you missed it, you can watch the event on their YT Channel or ours! Heart of ARC YouTube: www.youtube.com/watch?v=I2I1... ARISS YouTube: www.youtube.com/arisslive

#FRAM2HAM simulated SSTV transmissions from the ISS @arissintl.bsky.social received at the Neumayer Station III in Antarctica #DP0GVN. Due to the low inclination of the ISS, it's only maximum 1°-2° above horizon, should be much better than..

Thanks, as ever, to @g7kna.co.uk (SBARC Secretary) for the in depth links and background information This is a great #STEM activity organised by @arissintl.bsky.social
