Congratulations @jasonwilliamsny.bsky.social

I have been searching for a book of this kind for a while. The example chapter looks great. Just ordered one copy for my lab.

Insightful article!

Honoured to have been selected as a #SloanFellow Thankful for all the support from family, mentors, collaborators, colleagues and students along the way! @sloanfoundation.bsky.social

Re-reading this after many years. Don’t confuse a pile of bricks with useful edifices!

This is a few weeks old, but LIZARDS NEVER GET OLD 🦎😇 Find out what makes them so interesting in our Creature Column @naturemethods.bsky.social

New paper from the lab: feedback from piriform cortex to the olfactory bulb carries identity and reward contingency signals in a multimodal (odor and sound) rule-reversal task. Feedback is re-formatted within seconds and reflects changes in the perceived rules of engagement. doi.org/10.1038/s414...

Nice feature in The Scientist on the power of using 𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘰𝘮𝘺𝘴𝘤𝘶𝘴 mice to study evolution of social and other behaviors⁣. Beautiful lead photo of an Oldfield dad with his pups by Wyatt Toure in my lab. www.the-scientist.com/on-a-wild-mo...

Highly recommend. 👇🏽

Here is the link for the "back-story" for a paper we published in 2024. It was in collaboration with Feng Chen (Stanford), Shaul Druckmann (Stanford) and Michael Long (NYU). This is my first attempt at doing this. Feedback welcome. www.arkabanerjeelab.com/_files/ugd/c...

In 2024, I witnessed two incredible celestial phenomena that really took my breath away.. aurora borealis and total solar eclipse.

As a current resident of this firehouse, I found its history particularly fascinating!

The latest paper from the Shea Lab is out today online. Here @anowlan.bsky.social shows that responses to sound in the auditory cortex merge with olfactory information via the basal amygdala. This is likely an important pathway for maternal behavior www.cell.com/current-biol...

Timely article on the unusual effectiveness of non-model organisms in neuroscience! Adding one of my favorite examples to the list — Alston’s singing mice — remarkable among rodents for their prodigious vocal abilities!

Woke up to this view! #viewfromlivingroom @cshlnews.bsky.social

my lab (www.tuthill.casa) at UW is hiring a research assistant/tech. basic scope is to apply machine learning/computer vision tools to measure and model 3D animal behavior and mechanics. we are a diverse, collaborative, curiosity-driven group. Apply: uwhires.admin.washington.edu/ENG/Candidat...

Hot take! Just like p-hacking, one can be guilty of behavior-hacking — for a given manipulation, testing as many different behaviors as you can think of, and then reporting only the one that shows a significant effect!

Just finished re-reading the published article. Brilliant, Insightful, and snarky in equal measure!

my lab has an open postdoc position in neuronal gene regulation. please reskeet! jobrxiv.org/job/cold-spr...

fantastic resources here. any neuroscientists considering single-cell work should read these reviews. I am thrilled to have them to cite when I review grants and papers.

Congratulations to CSHL Associate Professor Saket Navlakha for receiving a 2024 Simons Foundation Pivot Fellowship! He’s teaming up with CSHL’s Hannah Meyer for the program to explore how the adaptive immune system solves common problems also seen in machine learning. www.cshl.edu/navlakha-nam...

"Our results show that, like male song, female song elicits robust increases in song effort from both female and male mice." @evolbrain.bsky.social's group is on a roll with Alston's singing mouse! #prattle 💬 #bioacoustics

The Kebschull and @rezakalhor.bsky.social labs are recruiting a joint postdoc for an exciting project at the interface of phylodynamics and neuroscience. Come join us at JHU BME. Spread the word, and contact us if you are interested. #hiring 🧪🧠. More on www.kebschull-lab.org and below.
