That Arkham from youtube. Not that you'd know really. https://www.youtube.com/@arkham666 I'm a gaming content creator who focuses on nostalgia from the early 2000s and games with great stories. I'm also an aspiring solo game dev.

Yup. I'm sure there are people screaming at each other on here because it's the internet but it seems quite easy to just ignore all that.

By what standard? I assume you're not expecting any kind of objectivity here. The best guess I could give is a game that achieves everything it sets out to do within the limitations of what was available at the time. Even then there's always room for improvement but the list would be quite long.

Calling it how I see it is all. I'm also a fan of story rich RPGs and adventure games. Hoping to make one myself eventually.

I loved going there when I was kid. I've got fond memories of playing street fighter 2 and tmnt with my brother in the arcade on the pier.

Yeah there's definitely a lot of thinking and figuring out to get down at the start and little to no handholding so I can see how they're asking for more than your average triple A game with a bagillion check points and tutorials every 5 minutes.

I forget exactly where you're from? I worked in a pub chain called Weatherspoons before I moved to Japan. Spend enough time there you can actually see every stage of the transformation.

Never was a Nintendo boy. I had a seva megadrive and then my first PC. I've emulated a few of these but I never had the pleasure of engaging with them at their time.

I've gone through a few now so maybe my image of them is skewed. Just making enemies damage output high and spacing checkpoints far apart is definitely one way to make a game challenging but it's not that smart. I certainly enjoy though.

Souls games really aren't that hard. Their whole gimmick is enemies do massive damage and you have to run for ages from your last bonfire to get another chance to figure them out.

That's hella cool.

Then we are in violent agreement. However that's not how you came across in your post. I say this as someone who has routinely come across wrong on various text based platforms. So just take a little more care in the future.

That's subjective. I'd say "I'm glad you're enjoying your life" but then again if you were content, I doubt you'd be upset about what anyone else does with their time.

Noice. I'm gonna be over that way early March. Not sure exactly when yet but I'll ping you when I know for sure.

The hate grift mill is so strong now that any game news seems to be just another vehicle for their sludge.

Remove the word "with" from that sentence and it takes on a whole different meaning.
