The US plans a 25% tariff on Canadian potash, currently its largest supplier. Belarus wants to get back to being a US potash supplier. This will require the US to lift sanctions in place since 2022, and no tariff on Belarus. Transportation infrastructure in Belarus may be inadequate to meet demand.

Yes. 250 nominees, 10 chosen each year. Predictions from past reports have been variable. e.g. AI, robotics, additive manufacturing, and genetic engineering were 4 of the 10 in 2015 on target. A lot of the new tech will be advancing more quickly with AI than it could before.

I had a pet squirrel for a few weeks. The apartment balcony, where we built a small nest for him, was inches from a tall tree. I found that young squirrels can climb, but don't know how to descend. He would reach the flat roof and I would rescue him there. In a few days he learned how to climb down.

If you are interested in the scientific history of aerosols and protection against airborne bacteria and viruses, I recommend reading Airborne by Carl Zimmer. www.penguinrandomhouse.com/books/724793...

Pretty. I visited JSC Mission Control in Houston last year. They have a large map and live videos from the ISS, though not as pretty as the one you posted. Thanks!

I agree. Economic prosperity and stability are best fostered by allowing market mechanisms to function largely unimpeded, with government intervention reserved for mitigating consequences rather than dictating outcomes.

As a physician I see this with patients, as well as those unwilling to protect themselves from public health hazards such as infectious diseases, smoking, obesity etc. The quote has broad applicability to human behavior.
