“Magma”, “Lightsource”, and “Dual” are my favorites from this Andrea Maack discovery set. If I want a signature scent, “Magma” is it. “Lightsource” has a nostalgic clean 1990s feel to it, and “Dual” is an iced ginger tea with a slice of lemon that would be perfect for spring/summer. #perfumesky

Recently emptied samples that I was glad to try it, but didn’t make it to the full-size list. My bank account is happy about it. #perfumesky

As a somewhat sensible perfume enthusiast, I have decants of DVN Soie Malaquais and Lattafa Peace & Love. On the blotters, the fragrances are closely similar, with DVN having a softer feel. To save money, I’d go with Peace & Love for the scent. For the bottle design, DVN wins hands down.

After reading this article about Abdul Kareem Egyptian Musk perfume oil, I immediately placed an order for it. (Ok, I’m done ordering fragrances…for this week) www.parfumo.com/Users/DRKSHD...

Sniffing through my Andrea Maack discovery set and I’m so impressed by it. Right now, I’m trying Soft Tension and Pavilion on my arms, and I can’t decide which one I like more.

Stumbled upon a $90 bundle deal for Mon Guerlain Intense and La Petite Robe Noire (original formulation). Couldn’t resist and they’re on the way to me now. #perfumesky

My favorite blind buy in early 2024 was Guerlain “La Petite Robe Noire Black Perfecto”. I love the black bottle and the cherry/almond/leather scent.

A look back at my perfume purchases last year around this time and I found it interesting that I bought 10 bottles. I rediscovered perfumes in early 2024 and the last time I bought a new perfume was in 2017, Jo Malone “Velvet Rose and Oud” which was my wedding scent in 2020 and 2021. (Covid times)

So happy that “Taipei” by One Day is in my collection! It’s a nostalgic gourmand and reminds me of the delicious aromas coming from the street food stalls in Taiwan. #perfumesky

Was gifted 3 Fugazzi samples (Angel Dust, Parfum 1, and Workaholic) and unfortunately I don’t like them after doing test trials. They’re either way too light or has an odd note that my nose doesn’t like.

I like the dry down in Imaginary Authors “The Language of Glaciers” much more than the intense and sharp opening. It’s more calm with hints of florals in the dry down. I think I like the scent overall as a room fragrance.

I have a spreadsheet of my current fragrance collection, so I can keep track of it. Last night, I added a price column and the running total is raising my eyebrow. 🤨 Going on a fragrance rabbit hole is expensive, but so fun! #perfumesky

Attended a perfume class and it was so fun sniffing the different essential oils and blending it to create my perfume oil. Surprisingly, my scent was the first place winner in the class. It’s a spring inspired scent with notes of bergamot, grass, freesia, patchouli, amber, cedarwood, and musk.

Sorce’s “Between the Sheets” is a cozy under the blanket sort of scent. It’s creamy with a little animalic edge. #perfumesky

“Vespertine” by House of Puente is for the tuberose lovers. A softer take on Robert Piguet’s “Fracas”. #perfumesky
