I wish someone would take a moderately complex OO project in Java and convert it to rust, to show the opportunity and pitfalls. Rusts abstractions are novel and hard to use until you get a feel for where you could really shoot yourself in the head

Why not everybody earning more than 100K, the vast majority of those people cant leave. Apparently 10000 millionaires left the UK last year.

As a failed sass dev, not enough market research, perfectionism, platform risk, legal risk, market too small, only scratching own itch, lack of distribution, no network, even pretty average ideas can succeed if you're back by combination but the bar is insanely high if you're solo

I have never come across a work environment where learning was taking place other than actually doing the work and getting it reviewed. Soft skills, team bonding and culture sure, but not anything that genuinely made better engineers. And the downsides, commute times, office politics, presenteism

Never understood the attraction of mechanical keyboards they're slow incredibly clicking. My trusty old wired mac keyboard over 5 years old and still superb to type on.
