Our final day in Bolivia wasn't supposed to look like this. We were supposed to head to Uyuni to see the salt flats. Unfortunately, our tour was cancelled due to protests. I stand with the people of Bolivia and hope the upcoming election helps with the current state of things!

Our third day was cruising Lake Titicaca and visiting Isla del Sol.

The next day was the toughest. We were already at 15k ft above sea level, and we were hiking to Charquini Lagoon, which was 2k higher. The altitude was rough and I had trouble breathing. The view was still pretty great and I had some coca tea to help.

Are walking tore? Took us all around La Paz. We started with the Valley of the Moon, which apparently didn't have a name until Neil Armstrong came and said that it looked like the Moon. We also got to ride the cable cars around the city. See some historic buildings and ended at the Witches Market.

We made it to our hotel with a few hours to spare before our walking tour so we completely crashed.

Part 2: Bolivia We flew through Lima to get to La Paz. It was funny because when we flew through Lima the first time, it was the old airport, and this time we were at the new airport on opening day. This time our flights went smoothly, even though it was another loooong day of flying.

Our final day was wandering around the city again. We ended up at the botanical gardens and zoo because we heard there were wild monkeys there. It did not disappoint. The zoo itself has seen better days but we were able to get closer to some animals than I've ever been before.

We did a bird-watching/wildlife tour. We saw wild parakeets, a toucan (which was too quick for a picture), a howler monkey, and lots of Kingfishers, herons and Hawks.

I have to say the local food was excellent. Lots of fried bread stuffed with meat! It was winter there so the soup was really comforting!

Some views of the city. We visited a very crowded market district, their old train system (now defunct), a basilica, and the Casa de Indepencia. Fun fact, Paraguay used to be much larger and was the catalyst for the rest of South America to separate from Spain and Portugal.

Started off /trying/ to get to Paraguay. We missed our first collection in Lima and ended up in Santiago, Chile. We got to fly over a good amount of the Andes! We finally made it to Asuncion after almost 24 hrs of travelling.

Woah! That's awesome! I haven't started pulling yet. I don't have a lot saved up so I think I'll only manage to get sylus, if that. XD

I apologize for the long alt text if you use it. I was trying to be comical with it.

Yeah I think he is moving into 2nd for me too. I kinda wish he had a voice that is a little deeper (and I don't like the pet name Pip-squeak), but I do like the idea of a love interest that has a few screws loose. hahaha

Hahaha I am in the SAME boat. Caleb is a cutie and I have been enjoying him, but I have learned that Sylus will always be my #1 as well.

I just really want them to succeed so it feels like a personal failure when they don't. Anywho, I just sent out my last reminder announcement. I'm hoping they show up for the last two classes so I can end the semester on a good note and try new things to help in January.

I never set out to be a teacher, so it has kinda been the Wild West of figuring things out. I have students who are mentally checked out and I have no idea how to reel them back in despite my best attempts at extending olive branches.

Yeah it is super cute! I just started it last night and I'm almost finished with Charon East. I don't know if I'm really playing this game to it's full potential, but I've been having fun. Lol

I just have to say, I love seeing your posts about Sylus. He is my fave too! This event has been a lot of fun!
