Republicans have a “big, beautiful” problem: Trump’s budget bill is polling like garbage. A plurality of Americans oppose it, just 67% of Republicans support it, and a whopping 71% of independents don’t like it. And, of course, Democrats hate it. That’s a real problem for the GOP.

A profoundly important point. Trump as “anti-war,” “isolationist,” “dovish”… the evidence against such notions is overwhelming. They should be read as purely ideological assertions, manifesting a desire for Trump to be “unorthodox,” or to paint MAGA as a justified reaction to liberal/neo-con evil.
