Mastered it 🖤❤️ Beyond excited and full of emotions to close this chapter at Texas Tech!

A study in @jama.com last week documented that in just over a month 139 training grants were terminated by the NIH

Excited to share this! Thank you so much to Olivia, Dr. Walker, and Dr. Harrop for your support on this one! link.springer.com/epdf/10.1007...

As 100 days in office comes up, let’s focus on the next few months: Trump is trying to stop spending at NIH to justify cutting the NIH budget. Every US scientist should be in contact with their Congressional reps about this. Get grants and money out the door soon or the money goes away.

Whole lotta "He Is Risen" from people who voted for a tyrant who ABSOLUTELY would have sent Jesus to a prison in El Salvador without due process. SEND TWEET.

One month until graduation 🖤❤️

To what extent do internalized weight stigma and thin ideal internalization overlap? Our recent paper suggests not too much and that eating disorder prevention programs might want to target both types of internalized bias. doi.org/10.1002/jclp...

One of my good friends is collecting data for her thesis! Please consider participating! unt.az1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_...

My sweet undergrad mentees know me so well 😭🥹. It is moments like this that remind me of how lucky and privileged I am to be able to do what I do every day. It reignites the fire through hard times with everything going on in the world and academia.

West Texans can join in this Saturday from 11-2 at Tim Cole Park for a peaceful protest!!! #standupforscience

So proud of my mentee for completing her first poster presentation at our undergraduate research conference 🥹🫶🏻

"I don't want a Disney vacation of our history! I don't a whitewashed history, I don't want a homogenized history. Tell me the wretched truth about America, because that speaks to our greatness" -- 20 hours into his speech, Cory Booker is spitting absolute 🔥

I wrote an op-ed about my experience as an early career researcher right now… TLDR, it’s pretty rough out there guys Thank you to @sufsnewmexico.bsky.social for inspiring the piece and to ABQ Journal for publishing

I don't think we talk enough about how difficult it is when your career consists of constantly battling against diet culture and trying to make people understand that what they've been told their whole life is wrong/stigmatizing/harmful. Esp when you're in a larger body. Shit is exhausting.

🚨 Attention NIH & NSF grantees! AAAS is hosting a rapid response webinar this Friday, 12-1 pm ET, on responding to federal research grant terminations. NIH and NSF will be case examples. Register here: aaas.zoom.us/webinar/regi...

From a Red Raider to a Grizzly! I am beyond excited to be joining the Laboratory for Eating Disorders and Equity with @drmartinwagar.bsky.social and the incredible team at the University of Montana (@umontana.bsky.social) this fall as I begin my PhD in Clinical Psychology! 🐻🫶🏻

Major update over the weekend to our spreadsheet tracking terminated NIH grants. 👇 Improvements include: - more grant metadata, including Congressional reps and their phone numbers - data from more sources to complement PI-submitted information - better data integrity and reproducibility 1/

The crush of new grant cancellations hasn't let up. If your grant was terminated (or your app was pulled) please use this Google Form👇 to submit details for tracking purposes. Multiple advocacy efforts are moving forward, but we must must must know more about what grants were cancelled and why.

1/x My NIH grant that would collect data to help *prevent suicidal thoughts and behaviors* among LGBTQ+ people was terminated today, along with many other LGBTQ+ focused grants. These terminations make no sense scientifically. Here's why:

Feel free to DM me if you would like to speak with press about being in any of these three areas. The press is beating down our door to connect with impacted scientists and patients! #standupforscience #scienceforall

Parents and youth needed for a research study! The Tracking Risk over Time Lab at Texas Tech University is leading an IRB-approved study about suicidal thoughts and behaviors. To learn more, click here: evaluate2.ttu.edu/surveys/?s=A...

I couldn’t have done it without my amazing advisor 💛

I’m so excited to share the new paperback cover for Coming Of Age 🌟 I think it hints at how varied our adolescent experiences can be, and also – maybe this is stretching it a bit – how much adolescents can influence each other. Also SHAPES Out on 10 July 🤠 Info: tinyurl.com/zkur28wa

NEW PAPER: How do we advance mixed methods in mental health research? doi.org/10.1136/bmjm... Mixed methods are widely recognised as valuable in mental health research, but aren’t as embedded as we’d hope and there are a lot of challenges that individual researchers and teams must navigate… 1/
